Bozzuto Resident Experience

I love living at IOM. The apartment maintenance and cleaning staffs competent, timely and cordial. Their work quality is good. The concierge staff (Nicole, George, and Linda) are EXCELLENT. I look forward to their greetings everyday. And, I am impressed with the volume of packages dropped by FedEx, USPO, and UPS that they handle. The apartment interior is great. I cannot hear my neighbors - so the walls are solid. The location is excellent and the building it sits next to the Navy Yard Metro (New Jersey entrance). Down side of living here is dogs, dogs, and more dogs. If you are afraid of dogs or allergic to dogs this is NOT the building for you. Most owners have trained their dogs well however there are a few that allow their dogs to jump on you or otherwise invade your space. I am allergic so not what I need to happen. Most of the dogs are friendly or curious. I only encountered one owner who could not control her two huge growling dogs. I have not seen them in months so I think they moved. Thank goodness. Another issue is the elevators do not seem to all work all the time. I have been fortunate in that my goings and comings have only been significantly adversely impacted once. A 15 - 20 minute delay. Some tenants walked up the stairs. Not an option for me but I was fortunate to be in my apartment by the time none of the elevators were working. I recently retired and will move out of state in the near future. Despite the negatives mentioned (dogs and elevators) If I were to return to the DC area IOM would be my first choice.

For nearly $2500 a month you would think that I would have a working clean dishwasher, I do not. When I first moved into the apartment, there was mold in the wine fridge, the dishwasher did not work, and the apartment was not completely cleaned out. The dishwasher was replaced with an even older one that does not work and I don’t want to continue to ask about it. Since being here I have found several more weird things that just don’t work or aren’t quite right. At first glance the property is beautiful; looking closer, it is not well kept. There is always trash of some sort in the hallway. The fire alarm has been pulled or activated twice in the last month and we have been exiting the building at 2 AM to stand outside in the cold and wait for the fire department to figure out what’s going on. I know we have building security, meaning a doorman and cameras, but I’m not sure how secure the building is if someone can get in and set a fire in the gym bathroom. Looks can be deceiving. I hope my experience improves over the next 14 months.

I love the area Trove is located at, very close to DC and my job. The apartment building is beautiful, including the amenities. The gym is also very big with a large variety of equipments. The pool is a little shallow, but still nice. The neighbors are super friendly and this place is dog friendly as well. Trove is a little more on the expensive side, but they offer very good deals when moving in. This is an upcoming area, you can really see the neighborhood becoming prettier and prettier. I recommend this place to all my friends looking for a new place to live. The staff is also very nice, and they answer emails and call fairly quickly. 10/10 recommend this place. 👍
