Reviews: What People Think About National Grid

I was unable to login or use this app for the past 10 years. They FINALLY made it so you can just login. I don’t know why this made this impossible but so easy to do online for so long. 5 stars.
That said, I just tried to pay and it’s asking me to login to a third party payment system. Why can’t I just pay. Why doesn’t this just link to my existing account and saved payment methods. I guess it’s useless still. Maybe by 2034 we can pay with out National Grid account.
I don’t understand why this app exists because the website is far superior even those this looks nice and should be more convenient. I’m so upset about this anti-design I reported “speedpay” as fraudulent, which makes sense because I already have payment methods setup so it actually behaves like a scam.
Someone at National Grid should be fired for general UX incompetence.
EDIT: there’s no reason to make this app if the website is so much better. Just fire the app team or hire someone like me to fix this nonsense.

I can’t log in anymore and now I get , on the top of page it says “Account”. Then about a 1/4 of the way down it says “No Data”. With the way the prices go up for them to service us. You would think they could fix the app.
You sent a reply for more info about this app. But in the reply you say that people are getting the same Problems as me. Just fix your app. In fact fix everything. You want paperless billing, so I signed up for it. The thank you we get is a bill with 1/2 the info. What are you people bidding. We have meters that are extremely old. My father bought this house in the 60’s and it’s never been changed. But keep giving yourselves more raises. In fact the town has contacted you about a tree in front of my home. Your wires run through it. This is a real big tree. Branches fall from it all the time. I have fixed my fence 4 times. I repaired my front lamp post, because of big branches. It’s hit my gate and front stairs. I repaired my brick stairs and fixed my walkway a few times. Next time you and the town will be sued.

What is the point in using this app? I have used many apps from different utilities and this one is by far the worst. Apps are meant to improve the experience of the user by making it easier than doing an alternative action (i.e. google maps app is easier than using the google maps website on mobile) and this is true for most apps. However this app somehow make the user experience worse. I will stick to using the mobile website since it’s far most useful than this thing. No energy usage statistics, hard/difficult to sign in without the account number(why can’t you just use the login like the website), it’s not easier to pay your bill, and you can’t make edits to your account. I wish I could give this app less than 1 star.
