ALL & ALL # ONE

I’ve been a Members 1st member for many years now. I’ve really appreciated their professionalism and friendly communication on every level and you can actually call a 800 number and actually talk to a live human being without going into a ridiculous maze that keeps the you on hold for unimaginable times. All and all I’m extremely pleased and the only thing that comes to mind that I’m not real happy with is when I call a local branch I seem to always get a voice mail instead of a live human being and sometimes don’t get my message returned until the next day which is upsetting to me because when I call a local branch I expect to speak with the right human to address my needs and not forced into leaving a message. If it wasn’t for what I just mentioned I would’ve given a 5 star all the way.

Notifications/Face ID/Customer Service

Members 1st is great outside of this app. I changed my contact phone number a year ago and have been wondering why I stopped getting text notifications, (which I had set for any time I used my debit/credit card, any time my balance went over/under a certain amount). I had someone from the bank help me “fix it” awhile ago, but the issue was never fixed. I went in and looked at the card controls again (another very confusing screen, because it kept sending me back to the previous screen when I hit the second card controls button. I would think that would have additional card controls for the specific card that I chose.) My old phone number was still linked. When I changed my contact number, I would think it would have removed my old phone number from my account completely. I don’t imagine most people are going to hunt down multiple places in the app where their phone number could be stored. I also constantly have trouble with the Face ID when signing in. There is an old version of this app that I remember being MUCH better. Update: Today my credit card was declined, I have over $1000 credit line remaining. They are claiming it has to do with card controls, but nothing is locked. Keep losing connection with customer service messaging even though I have 5 bars of service. Upon reconnecting I have to reexplain the entire situation and wait 10 minutes just to be disconnected again. At this point I am outraged.

Not a useful update

Constantly getting a bad email alert that tells me to go to my profile page to confirm my email. I click continue and it goes to my profile where my only option is to actually change the email on my profile. The email on the account is correct so why not just have a confirmation button as opposed to making someone go through changing the address to the same email. Poor workflow and bad experience. Also placing your finger anywhere on the page to scroll the screen automatically selects and highlights the object where your thumb lands and will change highlights as you scroll. This is evident in messages and even account lists. This is completely contrary to iOS design principles. Honestly the entire thing looks and feels like a responsive webpage and not a native iOS app. It is little details like like this scrolling behavior that make it apparent someone is pushing some unified cross platform design that will end up making users on both major mobile platforms unhappy. It may look modern and fit new branding but as far as far as feeling like an actual mobile app this update fails.
