This app is meant to deliver health information based on your results from blood tests, fitness watch syncing, and DNA test results. It does this quite well in my experience. It syncs regularly with my garmin watch to track sleep and activity data. After getting blood results, it displays the info in easy to read graphs and charts. I uploaded my DNA results from 23 and me and it also took that into account. My main issue with the app is that it has problems starting. You have to sign in every time (not bad in itself since you are looking at private health information). When signing in, it takes a while before the app loads, and often “times out” and I have to sign in again. I figured this would be a problem they would fix but it’s been over a year that I have this problem and it still hasn’t been resolved.
My issue has been fixed (Thank You). Still hoping to see support for Apple Watch in the very near future but I will still give it a 5 star review for being very useful and personalized. *** Original Review *** I signed up for Inside tracker in early November 2021. I had my blood drawn at a local lab and few days later I had my results (values for 43 biomarkers) and a personalized list of recommendations for improving the biomarkers that needed improvement. For 3 months I faithfully tracked which of the 20 items on my checklist I did each day to improve my overall wellness. This system worked great through Sunday, Feb 6. However, since Monday, February 7, the app will not allow me to check anything off my daily list in spite of the app reminding me every evening to log in and update my day’s activities. I reported this to InsideTracker support on Monday and to their credit, they quickly responded with a couple of things for me to try. I tried them and nothing worked. I sent them screenshots and have emailed them daily since then but I have not received any response since then. This app is 100% useless until they get around to fixing it.
I am happy with the app improvements over the last few months. I am a big fan of the company and the science. I’ve bought 2 tests now and have also bought plans for some family members. I recommended the service to my close friends, too, and now we have a bet to see who can lower their inner age the most in 2 years. I have talked with the customer support and I am very happy to learn that the tech team is planning to integrate Oura into the app. It would be great to know if there is a page I can visit to see planned updates/improvements. Overall I think I still prefer the web experience. I think if the app leaned more into the user experience it would get more use from me. I really like seeing the wellness score go up over time, but I find it can take several days to change even .1 on the 0-100 scale, despite me doing all of the recommended activities in My Plan every day. This can be a little discouraging, as it’s difficult to establish that positive feedback loop that other apps have. For example, every time I deposit money into Wealthfront, confetti falls down (even if it’s just a hundred bucks). This is a lot of fun and keeps me coming back, as silly as it sounds. Maybe if there were more daily rewards or bits of encouragement to keep going with the plan, I would feel differently. Another piece of feedback is that many of the stock photos are a little awkward and come off unprofessional. I actually feel a little embarrassed when I show people the InnerAge results because of the smiling man with two faces. I get the symbolism, but it is still awkward IMO. I really do love the service, though, and would (and do) highly recommend it to others. I know that it takes time for front end features to catch up, and honestly that’s not why I use the service. I use it for the backend science. But this is a review for the front end.
