I rarely will try an app if I have to sign up for a subscription and then cancel it after the trial. With this one, it was worth it bc a) they gave me enough time in the trial to really try it out and see if I used it and b) it seemed like something that I hadn’t realized I wanted but once I saw it seemed ideal. I have thousands of recipes saved in various corners of the interwebs and I rarely go back to them bc even though the recipe is good, it’s sometimes too challenging to find the ingredients and instructions in the article or in the description and I also forget all about having saved the recipe. I love that ReciMe imports the recipe (from just about anywhere) and then saves it in a format I can actually use. I haven’t used the grocery or meal planning features but look forward to that. Two of the other many things I like is that the extraction process preserves the original link so I can go back to the source to find other recipes from that creator, and also that the app will do a decent (and sometimes excellent) job of extracting a recipe just from audio if the recipe text isn’t in the original link. Very handy. Last, the designers have done a great job making the app useable and visually appealing. Was very happy to hand over my money at the end of the trial and subscribe as this has become one of my most used apps.
I’ve been loving this app so far! Have had very good success with most of my imports, definitely had so issues here and there but I love how easily it is to just adjust things if there are mistakes. I have had plenty of perfectly transitioned recipes though with no mistakes at all which is wonderful! The overall layout of the app is sleek, easy to read, and navigate. I love the meal prep feature the app has as well. With it being the new year I’ve been trying to get on a better meal prep schedule and the app makes it incredibly easy to just pick on of your imported recipes and pop in your line up to plan. The grocery list that is created for you is incredibly helpful (I’m quite scattered brain at the store) it just imports exactly what you’d need for the recipes you want to make and you can just check things off as you go. My only issue, or more request of the developers moving forward, I’d love it if they included an import feature for macro breakdowns. A lot of tik toks i watch/have imported include that for recipes and I’d love to have that be an option so i can keep track of that along with the recipe as well. And also with that, possibly in the future having compatibility with MyFitnessPal. I love MFP and I think these two apps could go hand and hand with each other so well! Thanks for the genius app and hope to see more improvements and features in the future!
I love this app, I ended up paying for the subscription by accident but the importing features are really nice so I’m still glad I have it. The free features should at least include the importing from paste I think. My only issue is that the app is still a little glitchy: sometimes you can tag a recipe with the cuisine type and then the tag won’t save; sometimes while editing a recipe I am locked out of editing text no matter where I tap so I have to close the recipe and open it again; sometimes the URL detection pops up and the orange button to paste is missing so I have to dismiss the window and try again- my workaround is to go through the “browse” option because the URL detection never fails there; it took multiple tries to update my phone number because the change didn’t reflect until after I closed the app and reopened. Ultimately these things don’t make it a bad experience overall, and I think they’re things that can probably be fixed in the future. I’ve been using this app to cook more lately and it’s really nice and accessible to have my phone out while I’m cooking with a succinct recipe format instead of long blogs to sift through. I also like the cookbook organization, it’s such an improvement over sorting bookmarks in a mobile browser. It also allows me to merge the blog recipes with the ones I have saved on Instagram, and I love rating the recipes so I can mark which ones I’ve made so far and keep trying the new ones.
