I thought the UnitedHealthCare app was bad, and I was hoping for better when I switched insurance. I prefer to use an app to do most of my business wherever possible. I know you would prefer I used the app, because you make it so hard to get to a competent person when I try to call. While Iโm on hold for your overseas agent, you repeatedly remind me that I could be using the app. When I finally get ahold of someone in Bangladesh, I have to wait on hold again to speak to a US based agent. I would love to be able to use the app, but it has an overwhelming number of issues, that I canโt get my head around all of them. The first problem I had today, was that every time I asked for a new page, it made me sign in again. Next I got to a page I didnโt want to be on and there was no way to get back to the previous menu. I gave up and came here. I know good apps are possible. I see this app hasnโt been updated in 2 years, so you have basically given up also.
If the only thing you need to do is look at your ID card or look at the most recent claims, sure itโs fine. You canโt even see if youโve hit your deductible or review any details on your account. If you click Summary of Benefits and Coverage, it will try to load then drop you back on the overview page. There is no way to see overall account information and the interface is horrible. Why have a tab for benefits if it just pulls up a submenu with one option? Why not just navigate to that option? You can tell that it was built by an insurance company since there is no consideration for making it modern or usable. If this app existed for a company that did not provide an essential service that in most cases users do not have an option for someone else, it would not survive. Pure laziness and lack of care for a tool that is crucial for many policy holders. Profits are the only focus for BCBS, so you can expect the user experience to suffer. If you need any actual information, you can try to navigate the web portal on a laptop or spend hours on the phone with their team (who has given me incorrect information on multiple occasions).
This app is absolutely ineffective. It continually crashes right after login, not just occasionally but all the time. Even the recent update doesnโt fix it. Need to find a nearby urgent care thatโs in the insurance plan? Donโt rely on this app to find out that. You wonโt be able to get it open. Need to confirm something with insurance when youโre at the clinic? Forget about consulting the app. Youโll not be able to check to see if that specialist your doc recommends is within network. Need to show proof of insurance and you donโt have your card? Oh right, this app canโt help you with that either. Itโs as if BCBS MN doesnโt really care about your health at all. How is this the 21st century and this is happening?
