I’ve been looking for a point and click adventure puzzle game and this one fits the bill! The puzzles are clever and require a little thinking, but aren’t too difficult that it’s frustrating. The graphics are fun and simple but thoughtful, the world is interesting, and gameplay is smooth. It reminds me of a stripped down version of the Rusty Lake games, just a little less intricate. I’m really enjoying it. However, dear developers, you need to add a feature to save your progress! It’s kind of an expensive game, the second and third chapter is $2.99 each, and I wish there was a bundle option because I would have definitely bought it. Spending $5.99 on the entire game is giving me pause, so I’ve stopped at the end of the second chapter. The chapters are good and meaty, a comfortable length, but a little long if you’re intended to play each one through in one sitting. Being unable to save progress mid-chapter, and a lack of option to pay for the entire game in one purchase is what brought my rating down to 3 stars, which is unfortunate because I really do love this game!
I paid $2.99 for the short second chapter back when it released. I didn’t know if we’d ever see more of the game, but they finally added a third chapter. Only problem is, I had to replay the second chapter again. And they added an annoying memory game to it, where you’re blindly tapping on TV screens to see what’s on them, hoping you’ll find enough matches before you run out of the six attempts. It’s completely random each time so you can’t learn from previous failed attempts. And I can’t access chapter 3 until I pass this. This game started off interesting but it’s clear these developers don’t really know what they’re doing. I’m inclined to just give up and move on. I definitely won’t be giving them any more of my money. Update: I finally got past that miserable puzzle and made some progress, but the game didn’t stay in my memory when I minimized it. When I continued, it loaded up right BEFORE that godd***ed memory ****! This is a torture simulator, not a game. Update 2: Since I write about mobile games for a living, I spent the $2.99 on Chapter 3. I was enjoying it...until I hit a timed platforming section with terrible controls. Since the game doesn’t save mid-chapter, I can’t take a break and come back when I’m less angry and frustrated, because then I would have to redo everything up to that point. This game has interesting puzzles broken up with the worst and most annoying mini games. Just avoid it if you’re not a masochist.
Alright, I’m not usually one to review games but I must say: BUYER BEWARE (since they already have my money, I’m hoping I can save yours)!!! So you get the first chapter free. Decent game, I really liked it THEN it asked me to pay $2.99 to continue on to the next chapter. Mind you, there’s a “so so” amount of gameplay for the first chapter considering that it’s free, so I thought that was a fair price to pay to continue to “unlock” what I thought would be the rest of the game. BUT WAIT! Within maybe half hour of purchasing I finished that chapter to find out they hadn’t come out with the next part of the game!!! Wow. What a disappointment. I still kept the game on my phone hoping they’d create the next part soon, which they did, as I had gotten the game about a week ago before they added more chapters. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!! I started and finished the next chapter within the same hour today to find out I HAD TO PAY ANOTHER $2.99 TO UNLOCK ANOTHER CHAPTER OF THIS GAME!!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?? This game is very enjoyable and fun, but it is not worth $6 or more!!! Especially the fact that you must watch 30 sec ads to get any clues, 30 SECONDS, which is quite a lot of time in the app ad world, so the game is already gaining revenue from that too. I’m beyond disappointed of the greediness coming from this company.
