No nonsense glasses with hearing support. In busy environments glasses will last less than 5 hours but will last more when advanced beamforming processing is not used as much like watching tv at home. In a retail department store selling fragrance, processing makes a difference and can even improve things in tandem with hearing aids in my experience. However glasses will need charging so bring your Meta Gen 2s as a backup and use conversation focus at that point! These glasses are the best I have had. With a prescription and this frame, it makes things easier!
App works well but always reverts to default settings and not previous settings used. Squelching sound when getting close to another (when hugging). Wind can cause an annoying noise. Wish you could adjust sound tone with an equalizer setting(bass, treble) App is easy to use though but hopefully improvements are on the horizon
You must download and use the app in order to benefit from using the company’s glasses. However, if you try to access the app, a pop up window indicates that the company wants you to give it permission to “…track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.” This is not insignificant. The company’s own privacy policy indicates that it may use personal information it collects to “Create audiences for our advertisements, target our advertisements, and generate reports about the performance of our advertisements.” The privacy policy further provides that the company may share “Personal information collected through our App may be shared between the brands and affiliates, including future affiliates that are owned or operated by Luxottica.” If you try to express any privacy concerns to the company’s customer service representatives, most are less than helpful. Anyone who is considering purchasing the company’s glasses really needs to consider these things. UPDATE - I ultimately returned my glasses because I do not think they are ready for prime time. The glasses kept turning themselves off. Also, my experience is that several of Luxottica’s representatives are rude. When I returned my glasses to the store, the store representative told me that her store had to return its display because it kept overheating.
