Westurn: Turn Based Showdowns

I never write reviews, but I felt the need to say that this game could be much more than what it currently is. It has captivating artwork/visuals, simple gameplay mechanics, a lovable pet, and addicting gameplay. This has potential to be its own fictional universe/ story world. I would easily pay money for a roguelike, slay-the-spire type game with Westurn’s look, feel, and gameplay loop. Add damage numbers, health bars, passive items to boost your runs and you have a top charts roguelike that I wouldn’t hesitate to pay for. Truly a one of a kind game in itself and I hope the devs take this style further.

The game is fun and it is a good way to pass time if you are bored and have nothing to do it can help with that most enemies are fair and balanced the two changes I would do is swap the aliens and outlaws the aliens because the outlaws are harder then the alien but besides that there is one emeny in the currently last zone of the game it is the 2nd one and it’s healing abilty is so anooying and it blocks I can’t beat it without a lot of luck making that emeny unfun but the game itself is

This game is great and I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. The art it super fun, the game is simple yet exciting, and the skins for the abilities are all creative. There are a few things that do make this game lacking however, such as the ability to gain loot. The system they use is you get 10 whistles and it uses one up to collect the loot you got from defeating your opponent - but each level has around 5 enemies to begin with and the loot isn’t all the great so it’s a very slow progression. That’s not enough to make it 4 stars though, if that was the only qualm I had about this game it would certainly still be 5. The biggest issue I have is power ups in pvp. It really ruins the game, giving a limited resource to use in pvp makes it sorta p2w but you want to save those power ups for you story run. The power ups for pvp should either be mandatory to use or removed altogether. All in all this is still a great game and I think it’d be perfect with a few minor tweaks. I also think a way to emote or quick chat with your pvp opponents would be pretty cool !
