Bricky boy is spectacular honestly. I think the most refreshing part of it is the ability to remove ads for free. It removes ALL ads. I was expecting to still have to see them if I wanted to use boosts. Honestly though do yourself a favor and get the ad free version first if you have the spare cash. Earning cosmetics is a lot of fun because of how good the art is for their virtual console. I think they nail the feel of the older game and watch style games. I do have some minor “gripes” less so annoyances and just kind of minor changes i’d want made. The bomb the bricks sections need some stakes. I’d appreciate a timer or having the bombs also take health like the normal balls do. Some of the changes after removing ads are just clunky. Previously to get triple coins you’d watch an ad as a boost. Now you just hit a button to triple the coins, but it’s a bit jarring as opposed to just automatically tripling the coins I get. Overall great game, a great example of what a mobile game can be. It utilizes a lot of the strengths of being a mobile game. I hope the devs are well and keep making more stuff.
This is honestly one of the best iPhone games I’ve ever played. I’m so impressed with the graphics and design, as well as the entertainment level. Even though you’re playing sort of the same levels until you die there are great side quests and enough random games in between to keep you entertained and not bored. I always get bored of iPhone games quick as they’re usually too repetitive. Also love the nostalgia design it’s so comforting and cute and doesn’t even feel like I’m playing on my phone. Like it’s a real Bricky boy!! Great offline play too for on airplanes. No ads in offline, although you do have to skip a lot of prizes since they often require you to view an ad first, but I don’t feel like I missed much this way game play wise. Kept me entertained an entire flight and I even got asked by my seat mate what I was playing! Great work!!
I’ve had this game for only 2 or 3 weeks, but I’m loving it!! It’s a great time-killer and distraction from stress, overall playability in general is fantastic. One thing I see people writing about is the amount and frequency of ads. Yes, I do agree the excessive amount of ads in such little time can be annoying, but compared to other games that have you pay 5-10 dollars just to remove them, it’s not that bad to pay 2 dollars to get rid of them (specifically the random ads) The only problem I have with the ads personally is I don’t see or I can’t find the button/option to remove them, but that could just be because I haven’t played enough. I would like to give some fun ideas/recommendations the developers: 1. I think the bosses (baby dragon, etc.) are a little on the easy side and don’t have too much variation. I think there should be more variants of the bosses, something like a ghost-baby dragon or ice-baby dragon with abilities that correspond with the type (ice-baby dragon can freeze blocks so they can’t be broken for some time, and the ghost-baby dragon can turn invisible for a couple seconds, etc.) Also, I don’t know if there actually is another type of ‘bigger boss’ like dragon boss, (the boss you fight after collecting keys) but if there was more than one boss for that feature that would add more excitement too. 2. I feel it would be beneficial to add more customization categories. Don’t get me wrong, the skins and styles feature is amazing, I love it… but I think it could go further. Maybe there could be some different music options? Different block shapes/styles? Different paddles/pinball flippers? Just a silly idea, but could be nice to add. Overall, this game is absolutely fantastic and deserves 5 stars. Great game Developers, amazing work. (Also if anyone can let me know why I can’t see the remove ads button that would be great :) )
Bricky Boy is a combination of brick-breaker and pinball game genres, represented in a very original style of handheld gaming consoles from the '90s....
