The guided practices actually help me. I have tried so many other self care apps, and this one is hands down the absolute best. I love the journals, and growing my bond with Amaru. I think I might want to buy the golden key just to support the creators, but the app is amazing even without it. I have only been using this app for a week and I feel happier than I have felt in a year. This helped me more than my therapist, because the guided practices aren’t trying to “fix the problem”, they are acknowledging what is happening and showing me that I am ok. Thank you to the beautiful angels who created this app, you are truly making the world a better place. The app gets me up in the morning. This app makes me actually want to go out and do something. The journals and guided practices are my favorite because I have autism and the I like to write rather than talk but writing on this app makes me feel like I am talking to Amaru, not just writing to no one, because I want to talk to people but it’s hard to talk to them and writing to them when they are right there is awkward, but these journals make it not feel awkward for some reason. The guided practices are amazing, I look forward to unlocking them all with my beads! Also, if you are planning to update the app it would be cool to add more journals just because that is my favorite part, but it’s not necessary because the journals are already really cool. I wish I could rate this one million stars it really turned my life around!
I have used so many apps to try and help myself keep up with small wellness or self-care tasks and have ended up ignoring them or not enjoying them after a while, especially because of many of them flooding me with requests to make a purchase or putting so many things behind a paywall I can’t afford to get over. I was blessed enough to be donated a Golden Key that unlocks everything in the base game. This is an amazing little program that allows players to donate these keys to players like me who cannot afford them. I plan on donating when I’m more financially stable; I am so surprised that I only waited about 2 days until someone kind donated, so I would love to do the same. I wish other apps did that! I absolutely love the gratitude journals and have that set as one of my daily goals. I love the art in this app; it is clear that a lot of love has been poured into this! i recommend this app for people who are looking for a basic way to promote a little bit of self-care in their lives. Having three goals each day is manageable and realistic—I have felt positive changes after journaling with this app. I love the burn journal the most. The animation is really fun when you are all done writing out your anger and it gets “burned.” So many small, intentional artistic choices are made in the animations that make this app so so special.
To devs: please add notifications. When he’s back from exploring, daily set to interact. Or updates on him through day. Opt in opt out options. I’m an IT student who survives with mental illnesses as well as other issues and had been using another self care virtual pet. I like that this is a one time purchase and not a subscription so I switched over the second I saw this was active it appears I had previously liked the dev page on my old account, as Facebook gave me the ad. First of all, Amaru is cute. I too am an anxious mess most times. In fact I was such a mess that I said I completed my goals before I did to calm him down and now I feel obligated to do them, for my Amaru (and my real life cat Yuumi) It’s just beautiful. I kinda wish the journal had an animation and auto opened, it just seems like an extra step but that’s me being nit-picky. I read another review talking about different journal options. There’s another self care pet that tracks you by the day and tracks individual relationships in your life that’s REALLY good that this could get some tips from. Amaru Iis a game that helps you take care of you. However my peeve here is that what if I don’t succeed in my goals and I let poor Amaru down, does he have to be anxious all day? I’d prefer a way to opt out and say “will complete later” I know we are habit building so I suppose the guilt can be helpful, as my previous app had a calendar and it was spotty on the same habits I gave Amaru. Maybe the guilt will motivate me. Not the best, but if it’s silly and it works then it isn’t silly. I like that you support family sharing I’m going to give my partner Amaru and see if he likes it.
Amaru is here to support your self-care! Feed, pet, customize, and play minigames with the adorable Amaru while being rewarded for taking care of you...
