I signed up for Hireup as a support worker with over 4 years of experience mainly assisting people in a residential setting with high/ palliative care needs. I just wanted to pick up several hours a week for a bit of extra work and to give community care a go but unfortunately their are hardly any jobs going on the platform and i live in a major city. When a job does appear its usually gone 10 minutes later most likely to a veteran on the platform who has countless 5 star reviews. This gives new comers to the platform absolutely not chance to secure work. Even though you can provide proof of your experience and qualifications you don’t have any reviews on the platform so no one will even respond to you when you apply for a job. Hireup need to address this if they want to keep new comers to the platform.
I use Hireup as someone with support needs and I’m really impressed. It’s quite simple to use after you’ve put all your details in, and I recommend it to anyone looking for support. It gives you control and a great variety of workers
A friend and I hired John for a day of sight seeing while staying in the blue mountains. We are both vision impaired and use Dog Guides and he more than met our expectations. He was punctual, very helpful without overstepping, he was a great communicator and had a great sense of humour. He was very generous with his time and help and we’d hire him again in a flash. Thank you, John, we hope you enjoyed our company as much as we enjoyed yours.
