This is the best way to skip the inevitable queue when picking up medication, especially if you get repeats. I just order what I need when I see I’m running low although the App reminds you (by text) anyway. ⏰ It also reminds you when you need to get a new script. 📅 I haven’t quite nailed getting the prescriptions on to the App yet (probably just because I have ADHD), the pharmacist has had to do it from either a paper or phone order, but once it’s there it’s good to go. 😊 There might be a way of getting my GP to send my prescriptions to the App? Eventually I will move any existing phone prescriptions moved to the App as well so I’ll be completely set up. The other good things I’ve found are 1. You can DM (Direct Message, like texting) a pharmacist if you have any questions so you don’t have to wait on the phone for ages. 2. You can get your prescription made up at any Chemist Warehouse pharmacy although if you are going away on holidays you might want to check if there is one near you and check if they stock the prescription(s) you’ll need. You obviously also need to make sure you will have mobile phone coverage. 3. You can also order from the massive amount of products that Chemist Warehouse also sells in case you run out of whatever. (Band aids?! 🩹)
I have continually been having problems with is app for over 12 months!! Cannot order script refills, I click on the script/s I need and go to submit them and nothing happens ( pharmacy has said “yep there’s a problem with the app it won’t work!) Script that are texted through from the GP will not open in the app only in safari. Have been into the pharmacy twice and removed app and had it redownloaded with their codes and has made no difference!! Also issues with continually have to sign in every time you get out of the app even though I have clicked on the “stay signed in!” Exact same issue with my husband app! Absolutely useless the way it is and will be going in tomorrow to get printed copies of all my scripts and do it the old fashioned way!
My issue is that I need to be able to order repeats easily, online, in advance of outings, without being tethered to one store. I'm on DSP with an energy-limiting chronic illness, and I have to scrupulously plan any kind of energy expenditure. (I don't have a regular daily commute, and drive less than 3000 km/year). I'm equi-distant from 3 Chemist Warehouse stores, and my favourite is whichever is open when I'll be driving close to it so I can combine trips to minimise exertion in driving. The current system is too inflexible for me as I cannot benefit from the convenience of ordering my scripts in advance through any app without tethering myself to a particular store - which might be a good choice for my next outing. I need to be able to choose a store to dispense my meds which is convenient for me to be able to combine with my upcoming travel needs - which vary. The problem is that my ASL gets tethered to one store - making it impossible for me to order from another. That’s terribly inconvenient for me (and possibly in breach of legislation which deals with anti-competitive business practices). But if I opt out of ASL and use tokens, I can’t order in advance, which defeats the purpose. I’ve tried switching from one store to another, but this has proven to be a massive headache for everyone, which begs the question of if the system is unnecessarily inflexible about where my meds can be dispensed from. Why do I have to lock one in? I'm at risk of missing out on a whole month's repeat of a controlled medication because of the script expiring after 6 months, controls over how soon I can order repeats, and a system which doesn’t allow me to be as efficient with km’s travelled/energy expenditure as my illness requires.
