QQ is simply the worst messaging app I've ever seen. I've tried WeChat, Snapchat, and WhatsApp, and honestly, even Google Classroom is better. First of all, it only accepts Chinese phone numbers. Does that mean we foreigners are doomed? What's the point of designing multiple language options? You can choose other countries but reject phone numbers from other countries? I seriously suspect this is racial discrimination and severe xenophobia. I bought an account, and overall, the experience was terrible. First, there's the issue of overheating. During use, my battery drained by at least 30%, and my phone and MacBook got extremely hot. I'm using an iPhone 14, but it doesn't get that hot. Honestly, it consumes more power and causes more heat than playing a demanding game on Roblox. Second, it only supports Chinese. Since QQ supports foreigners, why doesn't it offer any other languages ​​besides Chinese, not even English? I understand it's a Chinese messaging app, but you could choose not to release it in any other country instead of being so disgusting and greedy. Why go to such lengths just to increase traffic and downloads? Thirdly, what confuses me most is why I'm inexplicably restricted when using it, such as being muted, just because I'm a foreigner? If it's racial discrimination, just say so directly; there's no need for this underhanded method. Overall, it's a terrible messaging app. It seems only Chinese people can use QQ. Difficulty of use: 10/10; Ease of use: 1/10; Foreign user experience: -10/10; Firewall: 1/10. In short, I do not recommend any company or individual download or use this app in any form.

Don’t forget to pick up your messages and data when you delete this app. The messages are stored locally, but not in cloud. Also, it will not give you a notification or any sort of reminder during the use of this app. I have just redownloaded and found out my previous messages has all been deleted from the app. I have deleted and reinstalled this app only once to find out so there are several of years of messages has been deleted. It’s a painful way to find out. So don’t be like me, remember to back up or just use an alternative.

First of all, this is the worst software I’ve ever used for communications. Step aside from all the functionality topics, the optimization of this software is ridiculously stupid. On an iPhone SE 2020 with the A13 processor, this software can make my phone heat up heavily for no valid reasons, imagine heats for a software that is just for communication, like seriously?? The next thing is what everyone commented about already, the language issues, the software is published on a international app store but yet no any other language choices other than Chinese. Even though I am native to Chinese but I still don’t get what is the point of making it internalized if there isn’t any supports for multiple languages, at least add English. Besides languages, they don’t even allow people without a phone number and ID from China to register. There are so much more other disgusting issues about this app but lastly I will just talk about the manage group of the software, yes I understand this app is a Chinese application, there are many strict rules, totally understandable. But banning accounts for no reasons at all????? Really can’t complain more about QQ, -10/10 rating if there is an option

Because the ONLY way to make an account is by phone number, and I was told that my phone number isn’t secured, I have try multiple ways—included download other QQ apps to make an account—to make an account. However, after doing all this useless actions, I finally find out I cannot make an account is because the QQ app ONLY SUPPORT CHINESE mobile phone USER!!! What’s the point give so many countries mobile phone prefix at beginning? To give example to the Human Confusion Behavior Encyclopedia? I mean literally! If not support foreign users, show it not by saying “phone number isn’t secure”, it’s not like a big deal we can’t use QQ app! But it’s frustrating when I puts effort into finding a solution to the problem, and I was told I’m not right or wrong, it’s just I shouldn’t be here at the first place. Please show this on the QQ app or the Official Website. This functionality problem shouldn’t exist.

This app only accepts a Chinese phone number. I just wanted to test this app to see why it’s so popular, and potentially use it more once I’m better at reading and speaking Chinese, but without a Chinese phone number it won’t even let me create an account. Even if I’ve heard they accept all international numbers, the only valid options are Chinese area codes. Do not get this app unless you are actually in china. If you want alternatives try Snapchat or messengers like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, or for Korea, try Naver apps like their Line messenger, which are very popular here in the US and in Korea. Even international Chinese can’t even use this app if they switched to a US number after moving here, and even though this isn’t my case, I can strongly empathize with frustrated people who want to continue using their favorite messaging app but can’t after moving. Please fix these basic things and don’t lock out your users because of location; it’s really frustrating and ultimately probably looses you many regular users a year. Also, if you want to release a Chinese app on the American App Store, a lot of us would appreciate an English toggle switch so we can actually navigate if we have friends in China and want to communicate with them through this app. Even if I’m going to be studying Chinese in college it’ll take me awhile to get to the level where I can read some of the prompts they put and the ad for the app. Fix these and it will make many potential and current users happy.
