Frugl Grocery Price Comparison

I tried looking for prices for a common item to compare between supermarkets. It didn’t show the cheapest price at all, I had to look at each different supermarket app to work it out. I also tried the food allergen filet as I have coeliac disease and get quite sick if I have any gluten. It brought up products I know contain gluten, when you look into the product there is listed allergens. Food allergy filters are worthless if the information isn’t there and correct. So I went to Delete my account under the user info section. This produced an error stating this: Error confirming identity during account deletion. Please contact Frugl Support for help. There was a big red contact support button. When you press that it redirects you to an external website with this: Awesome Site in The Making An amazing site is coming to this web address. Check back soon! Deeply disappointing app. The failure to allow account deletion is major problem.

Ultimately the app is worse than opening the Coles and Woolworths websites and checking prices yourself. The categories, filtering and sorting options on those sites also makes them a lot easier to use than the Frugl search function. Aldi, Foodland, IGA, NQR and Drakes do not show up on the app, even though I have all the possible supermarkets selected. I even set my address as the local Aldi in case the app thought I was out of range, but got nothing. If the app had Aldi and Foodland prices, I would keep it, as these shops don’t have their own online shops to check. The share functions are no good, as the recipient can only view the lists in the app. There is no export function in case you want to import the data to a different app or spreadsheet. Only random items show unit price, which is a pretty critical failure for a price comparison app. Nice idea but lacking in 3 major ways: no options other than Colesworth, no filtering/sorting, and no reliable unit prices. Plus the app itself is over-engineered, with a pushy but unintuitive design. Maybe it will improve, but for now I am deleting the app.

Please add Superbarn and First Choice supermarkets. I don’t shop at Coles or Woolies. Also please extend the “local area” search. My nearest Aldi is only 4kms away but across the state border so doesn’t appear? It would be good if we could set our preferred shop options by opening a map and selecting our preferred shops from that? Please add pork to the allergens list too. Otherwise, keep up to good work 😀
