Hi it’s a very great app to sell items ... but just recently my account was deactivated without notice and I had some promoted items and many buyers that needed items the next day but were lost . The next day you reinstated my account and sent me an email that due to repeated violations you took out my account ... I have been a member of offerup since you started .. I have been on this app since 2015 .. I am highly rated 5 star seller and buyer ... and have over 2,000 followers and over 3,000 transactions.... I have never recieved any notice of any violations of any kind . All’s I sell is clothes . Some tools,, and small appliances at times . Nothing major ... I have tried numerous times to reach out to a team member to find out what the violation was so I can fix the problem or make sure it doesn’t happen again but I get the same repeated message over and over again “ thanks for reaching out ‘ it just doesn’t seem fair to deactivate me after 5 years with out any kind of info ... and resulting in around 8 different customers that made arrangements to pick up items that are now erased form my profile because of the deactivating process ! Now those customers may find me again and falsely report me for non responsive or even as a no show account because I’m all of a sudden gone .. and now I may get canceled again from those customers I lost ! And I also promoted items and never got full use of the $7.99 promotions .. in which I promoted many time in the 5 years I have been a member .. I need someone from offer up to explain what went with my account please thank you so much
I’ve sold lots of items on OfferUp and it has only been a blessing ever since started. But when I started to built my “great reputation” with a whopping 700 5 star ratings. They decide to remove and freeze my account. I had no other choice but start using my other emails to create accounts over again from scratch (0 ratings and 0 stars). I just thought “as long as I had nice pics of my items I should be ok”. Well apparently they noticed me open more then one account after flagging and freezing my original, without any customer service care to help me for weeks, they decide to remove my other accounts. (Keep in mind all my photos are gone and my posts are missing when they do that). So now I’m here to tell you, updating the app, redownloading, creating new accounts, creating new account form a different cell, or go about to fixing any problem with OfferUp customer care is nearly impossible and waste of time. I won’t sell with them again. Moving back to simple and easy Craigslist! Thx for freezing all my four accounts, that was all very hard work to build up and have a good reputation with other buyers/sellers. Don’t go with this app if ur thinking to do “long term” business. (Oh and btw, this post took me all day to post ...I wonder why...lol...their apple app is glitching too?!..they don’t wanna take 0 to none star ratings ..lol) And now they go and remove all my “selling” items, flagging my account and it almost looks like offer up has some hackers working for them. Good luck with attaching ur ID cards and all. Don’t do it!
There needs to be a way to remove more than one saved item at a time on boards, you have to remove them one by one and it forgets the spot you are at and goes to the top automatically. Also stop sending me more picks for you notifications it can confuse you into thinking you have an actual message or change the color from orange to another color keep messaging the same or make it red. Also make a way to remove my phone number I change my number and now I can’t access unless OfferUp sends me a verification even after I log in. I have email and password I would like to remove my number for my privacy I should have a option but once you use a number you have to keep using one. Meanwhile if you never use one you don’t need to use it as a verification. And stop asking me do I love the app it’s annoying you guys don’t even add features or changes but ask me constantly. Also a way to search by ratings and by how long they been on the app because so many scammers are making profiles the same day and are posting ridiculous offers. Also a better way to narrow down what I want to buy example if I’m looking for an iPhone 11 the 11 pro or pro max models show up when I’m looking for a specific item instead of just putting them in a melting pot make it a way I can specify exactly the item I need. Make some changes and the app would be much better it’s a decent app besides things I just named. Love the fact I can look nationwide very good feature.
Many of the features are great. I like the fact that BOTH buyers and sellers can rate each other to help minimize the number of scammers on the site. The different means of selling (i.e. local, nationwide) and the different forms of payment accepted. A couple of recommendations: -Require ALL subscribers (free and paying) to provide their name (at least first name) and an ACTUAL, clear picture of a subscriber (no sunglasses, no large hats, hoodies, photographs of self taken in the dark with little to no lighting, ...). No obscured faces so buyers and sellers can clearly see who they are interacting with. Some individuals on offer up don’t have any name listed and just an emoji or other object for a picture. Who wants to interact with a nameless or faceless individual...shady. -Improve the functionality of the text box for item descriptions! When entering a description, it doesn’t appear that ‘hard returns’ provide spaces between blocks of text when the official post appears for viewers to review. However, when reviewing a posting BEFORE an ad is officially posted, blocks of text appear with spaces separating them as prepared by the user??? Posted posts appear more as jumbled, squished blocks of text that are unattractive to read. I tried typing out a post in the text box AND copying and pasting a pre-prepared post from MS Word but the same result occurred - text squished together in the final listing. Is there a way to remedy this??? Overall, to date, I would rate the app 4.5 stars.
there are a lot of fake people. either they write " is it available", or " i am interested", BUT then after that they never respond. on a desktop or somewhere else is there a button that they might easily accidentally push? it gets annoying to have so many people inquire about your producr but then they never respond back. hard to say if they are fake people or what. it takes time away from your hands too. also is there any way in a phone or iphone to look up a person by their profile name for easier look up?it would be easier for buying too or selling lets say that person not familiar too much with offer up but they asked you to let them know if you have more items of what you sold them to let them know. and is there in settings to unblock people? once their blocked is there anyway to look them up of anyway of finding out who you've blocked. because then in the future you find a post they posted to sell but can't offer because we blocked them. yea maybe that one time theh said they were coming but never showed up so we blocked them, but then who knows maybe that person was real and not fake but had an emergency. so now has a post. wish there was a setting to see all the people you have blocked to unblock?
Offer up is an excellent app. It’s very easy to use. It’s fun to use! Customer Service however— needs a little work as of December 2017. I had an issue with a paid for feature called “bumps” which put your items above other sellers ads so your items are seen first. It’s a really nice feature. I paid for two but only received one. So I sent an email to the address listed on the app. I didn’t get a reply, so about a week later I sent another email. I still didn’t get a reply. Then by chance while using the app, a question came on screen asking if I liked the app or something on those lines. I explained my situation regarding the issue and how there had been no reply. I asked to please have Customer Service contact me. Within a week or two the issue was fixed. It was frustrating to not find customer service contact info on the app (most apps have this) causing me to have to go search for it here where apps are sold. There’s a “frequently asked questions” area on the app, but no email address or contact form. It was also frustrating not getting a reply. About a week after the issue had been fixed, (they didn’t tell me, I just happened to find out) customer service finally contacted me. At that point I no longer needed help. It would be great if there was a contact form or email address on the app and getting a reply would be good as well. That aside, it’s a great app for buying and selling items. I found it very easy to use!
