Personally I love DnD to its full capacity and had fun playing the app for some time being. However, my current rating is not a 5/5 due to two things - First being that some of my responses that I have given produce the exact same response that was given previously, using an already limited resource that is messages that refreshes MONTHLY. I was not too excited to see I had to repeat what I do and say as I feel if I don't maximize my own response (i.e. giving a statement, action and then another statement purely to build the scene) then it makes the requirement to respond with a single action or a single phrase feel somewhat dry. - Secondly, although it is a LLM and it does suggest to be very descriptive to be immersive, sometimes it disregards what was written moments before or something that has been pre-established as a hard line. In my case there have been two instances, one where the NPC not only does not recall the events of last night, but also inherently knows information about myself that I have explicitly not shared (in character) to anyone. That personally takes it out of me a little, and although it does create some unique encounters, this somewhat defeats the purpose of me writing about my background. Overall, I see potential with the app, and the instances where I got to roll dice for role-play or for combat was exciting. However, I think I will continue sticking with rolling (the dice) with my peers. Other wise, I might check out the app again in a few weeks once my message limit is refreshed.
Devs: It’s a fantastic game. There’s one reason I’m rating it four stars, and it has to do with the new update(15). I understand you all put a lot of work into this update. However, my friend and I find the new conversation system confusing and hard to follow (where it takes you to the screen with the statue character icon and changes depending on which NPC is speaking). We like the idea of the new character engine (they remember you and treat you according to your previous actions, etc.), but would prefer it if the conversation system went back to the old way (where the conversations just go along with the rest of your actions and the speaker is DM. It seemed to flow more seamlessly that way. I understand if you leave it this way if other players like it better the new way, but to us it is…frustrating. Also, (minor) issue. I like the new trade (merchants) system, but (and I may just not know how to do it), in the trade screen, I can’t see what an item does before I buy it. I can definitely overlook this, but it would be nice to see what something does (or at least read its description) before I spend my silver on it. Last thing. My friend and I would like an additional mage class along with the warlock (my friend suggested wizard). Please. Thank you for your time, and great work.
First, the game is generally awesome. The ai gives plenty of narrative freedom and the quests are fun. The descriptions have an AI tang, but nothing unbearable. I'm currently having fun playing as an elven princess on the run because she is the hated illigitamte daughter of the elf king and her sibling want her gone. Good stuff.. However, it is a bit buggy. After dice rolls, I have to restart my app just to move on. Also, as an accessibility matter, I like that the text can be screen read, but I’d be mindful of other settings that might be added to adjust the game okay for those with disabilities. Like, some of the buttons are hard to see. Maybe a tutorial would be nice? I didn't realize I could see my characters stats till waaaaay late. Additionally, my game currently won’t load up? Like the app keeps restarting on its own. Also, I think I killed my first character, but I couldn’t tell because my game stalled on the dice rolls. Maybe make that clearer since I ended up having to dekete my character and start over from scratch which wasn’t fun. Lastly, i hate to complain about price bc I know game makers are already underpaid, but to play free, are you seriously telling me I have to wait a month just for more messages without buying them? Come one, now. A day or hours I get but dang, bro. 😅 Could y'all please fix the bugs so I can get back to playing this lovely game? It's been a few days now.
At its heart, Everweave is a next-gen text RPG inspired by the spirit of the classic tabletop roleplaying games. That means no scripts, no fixed paths...
