Darza's Dominion

Everything I could ask for in a game of this genre. It’s a hardcore permadeath bullet hell, but it’s not hard to the point of being unfair (especially when playing with friends!). It’s grindy, but in an enjoyable way rather than a frustrating one. The core gameplay loop is simple and satisfying, and you don’t have to play for hours a day to have fun. You can pick it up for maybe 20 minutes at a time and still progress, have fun, and maybe even lose your progress to a boss when you aren’t paying attention!

It’s a really fun, addictive, and well-polished MMORPG experience. Similar in spirit to Realm of the Mad God, Survived By, and Steambirds Alliance, but with many features implemented to enhance and smoothen out the experience like lots of free storage, earnable premium currency by playing the game, craftable loot, pity systems for rare items, item modifiers, and now a public market board. It’s not a terribly hard game either, so it makes for a great casual mobile gaming experience. My only gripe is that there’s a bit of a lack of music and SFX, especially for cutscenes and harder boss fights. But what is there is really excellent and satisfying to listen to. The devs have had their troubled past with regard to community management while this game was being remade from its legacy version in 2018, but they’ve made good on their promises and are super attentive to suggestions, bug reports, and communicating what’s coming nowadays. If you’re into any of the popular roguelike bullet hells, like Isaac, Gungeon or Nuclear throne, you’ll have a really good time here.

Ive been waiting for this for years and im more surprised with the work than i though i ever could be. I used to play Realm until i no longer had a pc. Darza released somewhere in 2018-ish for mobile and i loved it, and been waiting for it to re-release ever since. Now the only reason ive given this a 4 star is because i havent played it yet i just finished the tutorial😂, yet im so impressed. This game has so much consideration for the player it’s unbelievable and should be a standard. I open the game and they ask if i would like to shift the UI and i thought what could this even be for? Until i saw the bezels on my iphone that could possible block the UI (which had happened in another game) and was shocked to see the amount of thought put in for their mobile players. I take two steps in and see assets blipping in and out of my screen and immediately head to settings, only to be shocked by not only the fact that they had the exact setting i wanted, but also the amount of options they had for customizability for their players! They also have a insta command feature to help with frequently used chat which was beautifully done and unbelievably necessary for a game like this👍🏽. Finish that off with a fresh and clean UI with little to no clutter, and you can tell how much care and regard they have for their mobile users🤷🏾❤️‍🔥. Beautiful pixel art, And lets not forget about THIS AMAZING MUSIC!? Some of the best ive heard and its up their with terraria/minecraft in how the game uses their music to create an experience for the user where simply the music, is enough to make them remember how amazing the soundtrack and experience of the game is. Well done guys. I cant even remember the last time i had written a review and this is easily the largest.❤️I look forward to coming back and leaving a 5!
