Verizon Family Companion

So, I have this app because my parents are over bearing or whatever. I don’t really mind it because they have it paired with the normal apple restrictions so it’s like it’s not even there, plus they already take my phone at night and read my texts so this app is the least of my worries. However, I saw a lot of people referring to the kids who gave it zero stars as brats and stuff (many adults said this is how you know it works) but have you guys thought about how your kids are actual people, little kids absolutely need this app but 14+ is when kids start to experience life more and while you can allow them to not have social media and stuff, it doesn’t really do you any good. Because your kids will just find ways to bypass it, they’ll find ways to get sneakier and hide stuff from you, you can absolutely have this app for your children but you have to deal with the consequences of your relationship with them being strained. Imagine that you are the parent of these children complaining, imagine the resentment. Is it really worth all the trouble? Is it really worth messing up your relationship because you wanted to see a couple of your kids tests? Also I do understand that some kids are higher needs so it does depend. Anyways think really hard on how it will impact your kids because I can tell you first hand that it will hinder their ability to socialize and stuff .(btw some of the kids have valid points and some of the parents have valid points but it’s nuanced)

So I am the child in this situation, and this isn't about me being like ungrateful or whatever towards my parents, this app genuinely made it hard for my phone to function. Unless the app was updated on all sides, I wasn't able to get cellular service. I also was not able to update my phone unless the app was updated, which I didn't realize until after my phone got stuck on "verifying update" for 19 or so hours (i had to let my phone die entirely before it would even let me use it). Once we finally deleted the app off my phone, my phone was working much smoother, until about two days when I completely lost cellular service, and I decided to try to redownload the app to see if it was an issue there, but it wouldn't even let me log in because it said I needed to be connected to a Verizon Cellular Network. I had to replace my old phone because of these cellular issues, and I don't want to have to replace this phone, but this is getting out of hand and is very stressful, because without cell service, I cant contact my parents when I leave the house, and they cant see where I am in, and what would happen if there was an emergency? I have no service or anything so I couldnt call for help. I dont know if there can be resolved, but I've tried to call Verizon Customer Support and the call doesn't go through, and I used the troubleshooting software and did everything it said to and no difference was made. So if anyone else has had this issue; please let me know what you did to fix it.

This is the worst app I have used to track activity. The interface is so hard to use and is so confusing. It’s always lagging and slow to process when I hit the buttons. I genuinely hope no one else downloads this app because of what a bad experience my family had using it. It can’t even track basic location. At this point, I might as well use Find My Friends to view locations because this Verizon app does a terrible job. Also when I tried to contact them for help, they blew me off! Apparently with a terrible app comes terrible customer service as well. Anyways, the person helping me was so inconsiderate and blamed me for using the app wrong when I followed all of HIS instructions. In fact, his guidance made the app even worse because I was drowned in useless notifications that were triggered by the slightest movement made by anyone in my family. It made it so hard to focus when I actually had to work or when I was simply sleeping at night. Another annoying and pesky problem was its random updates and USE OF MY PHONE WITHOUT MY CONSENT. Any app that does not ask for permission does not deserve to serve any demographic. I sincerely hope that this app is taken down because it’s beyond its saving point. Honestly, my son who just started computer programming in college could design a better interface/app. If I could I would not even give it one star so trust me when I say DO NOT GET THIS APP!!! From one mother to another all it brings is inconvenience and excessive pestering.
