Im an ex-collegiate athlete working and living in a different city than where I’m from, but I still go back and forth to see family and friends a lot. The grid view and filtering options are a lifesaver. I can easily switch locations and find people around all the areas I stay and matches near where I want to set my roots down. Whether I’m in my current city or back home, there seems to be options. Hoping this leads to a long-term partner who can keep up with me or at least, a workout motivation partner for the time being. I like that most people already have similar values about health, way better than swiping through generic profiles.
I joined Surf because of their Hyrox blind date concept, and honestly it sounded like so much fun. Getting to know someone while pushing through one of the most challenging workouts of your life feels like a pretty great way to connect. Overall, the app is easy to use, and I appreciate that I don’t have to pay just to see multiple profiles at once. Like other dating apps, there’s a limit on likes if you’re using the free version, but I do really like how detailed people’s profiles are it gives you a better sense of who someone is before matching. I think the biggest opportunity right now is growing the community, which would make the app feel more dynamic and efficient. I’m also not a huge fan of the contact access request, even though I understand it can be helpful for spotting mutual connections. That said, I’m excited to keep using the app and see how it evolves.
I’ve been really impressed with Surf so far. The concept feels fresh and actually intentional compared to other apps. It’s not just endless swiping, it’s about building real connections and experiences. I especially love how the app brings together an active, like-minded community. As someone who’s into fitness and events like HYROX, it’s exciting to see a platform that encourages meeting people in a more meaningful and energetic way. The interface is clean, easy to use, and feels thoughtfully designed. You can tell the team behind Surf actually cares about the user experience and the community they’re building.
