I did notice my GPS was showing that the reduction in speed from 70mph down to 55mph never showed anything going on. GPS never changed while going thru construction. They would have the warning signs that you could face double in fines if speeding through. So I followed the signs and everyone else would fly at a high rate of speed next to me, going about 80-95 miles per hour. This happened in ME on Interstate 95 and 295. Sometimes cars would pop out from on ramps. There were signs on the Interstate, signs to not slow down while passing by the on-ramps to let cars in, but that didn’t matter people still pulled out onto the road without stopping. A few times people pulled out while I was passing the ramp and I had to slow down fast.

I started using StreetSmart at the direction of my auto insurance provider Amica. This is a great app that watches for speeding, sudden stops and cell phone use. As a reward, they give me a percentage off of my insurance premiums and also a cash payoff. I have to tell you, it really has made me a more cautious and careful driver and I am way less likely to pick up my cell phone while driving. Highly recommend the use of this app. You are graded on each and every drive so immediate gratification on each score. You are even graded according to the nationwide number of StreetSmart drivers. Very very impressed with StreetSmart!

I was hesitant to enroll in StreetSmart at first because of my prior knowledge associated with similar apps and the opposite desired effect on your rates. As another reviewer has said, this is a FAIR app regarding grading performance. However, I have several areas where this app could be approved. I find the hard braking parameter is triggered if the phone is not 100% stable during driving (ex., flimsy phone mount, having the phone in a wireless charger cubby, driving a car with floaty suspension like a Lincoln Town Car). Two, when redeeming a reward amount, it would be nice to have the option of entering a custom amount instead of having strictly $5 intervals. For example, if you have $19 in rewards, $4 of that is not redeemable. Overall, it's a great app that needs just the tiniest of fine tuning.
