Rain City

This is not an adventure game because there really is no storyline. You have a quest. The quest is to find your sister and escape. Thats it. But what differs from other escape games is the puzzle types and drawing style and play action. It’s not a 2-D room with a clock in one room and a time-piece in another with the correct time on it. It’s one puzzle at a time to advance. You collect items like an adventure game and use them in the proper place or order. The issue with the harder puzzles is there is no clues, or I couldn’t find any, just guessing. The English translation isn’t bad but it’s not perfect, but you get the idea. The puzzles don’t contribute to the story but they are inline with your environment. For the most part, you don’t have to go too far from the puzzle to solve it, no traveling from room 1 to room 99 and back again, the answer is right there. I like the animal theme and cuteness. I’m not an escape gamer but this one has better puzzles than most. Good amount of play time.

First off I’ll say I thoroughly enjoyed this game, and it is totally worth the single $ I paid. Now with that said please keep in mind this is NOT a game that was made by “cotton-games”, or they did not develop the game(I believe). Just know that it was made for pc/consoles by a completely different developer and cotton-games only ported it to mobile. Keeping that in mind, it does NOT have the feel of any of cotton-games other adventure games. It is an adventure game, or point’n’click style game yes, but it plays a little differently than every other cotton-game like isoland or mr pumpkin. There are a couple of arcade style mini games, and again it is not going to be like other games that actually were developed by cotton-games. Still a fun, and great game, but just please be aware of what you are buying. I think the game has been unfairly rated, or like people have downvoted because it is not exactly what they expected, which is their fault in my opinion, since it is not as if google is super difficult to use or as if your not already on your phone/mac when you decided to buy the game.

Overall this was a good game. I think the puzzles were the perfect level of difficulty, if you play these types of games often it’s not too hard to figure out what you need to do. There were only about 3 or four times that I had to watch a walkthrough to figure something out. The only thing that slightly annoyed me was the tap to walk, the character doesn’t maneuver around objects well and stops abruptly sometimes but it wasn’t that big of a deal. If you’re into these types of puzzle games then I recommend this one!
