Dad's Monster House 2: Medal

These are my favorite, FAVORITE games, by far. This one is strange and wonderful. The animation style makes me so happy. The creepy details in this one were fun. I was disappointed with the male-centric portraits - why not include Ada Lovelace, Ursula Le Guin, Mary Shelley, Octavia Butler… or simulation-specific: Karin Tidbeck, Amy Plum, Dawn Metcalf, Stephanie Diaz, Tanith Lee, Yasutaka Tsutsui…

Now that the black screen issue has been fixed, you can expect another great title from these devs. Has all the ingredients that you would expect: awesome hand-drawn style, layered puzzles that may be tricky at times, and a cast full of characters in need of certain things. I made it through without hints over a few days of playing, so I felt the game was long. As far as difficulty, it’s not incredibly hard and everything is certainly solvable, but pairing some of the items with the characters didn’t totally make sense to me (some characters will accept multiple items which I found a bit confusing since you may think that you’ve completed that specific task). All in, the game was fantastic and I look forward to the next one!

I’m editing this review because the black screen error has been fixed and I’m excited to finally play! It looks beautiful as always.
