Simple concept. Pick one of four images and write a sentence about it. Great way to build your vocabulary and to identify gaps where you don’t know how to express a particular idea. I generally try to write a couple sentences while looking up things as needed. After a week or so I’m already noticing an improvement in my ability to be able to say what I want to say without having to look things up.
The idea behind this app is so simple but so good. I’m trying to get comfortable with Toki Pona. The loose and interpretive nature of that co lang makes it easy to get into static patterns of expression and interpretation. By switching off with real people, I see things I never would have on my own. It's both fun and helpful. The UI could use some polish, and some of the in-app messaging could be tightened up, but it's already really useful as it is. Oh, I’d like to add my vote to adding Esperanto to the list of languages with translation
I have been stuck in a language rut for a while because I have been learning grammar and vocabulary but not using it! This app has forced me to start using everything I’ve learned (and recalling it) so I am starting to have more confidence in speaking and making more complex sentences. There’s still not that many users in the language I am studying but hopefully in the future that will change.
