Went to ER with chest tightness, pain, trouble breathing and having woken up with elevated BP. Was referred there by my cardiologist because I had a heart attack a month ago. They did multiple tests and after 3 hours just told me to go home with no further instructions. I could see my test results as they came in via the LVHN app. And although they claimed everything “looked great” I could see that at least 2 tests showed issues that were not addressed and they never got results from a second blood test they needed to draw before discharging me. My vitals machine showed abnormalities several times causing the alarm to sound and not once did anyone come in to check. The doctor I saw more or less stumbled over his words when I asked about multiple issues and just said “go to your cardiologist”. Well sir, my cardiologist told me to go to the ER! I left with the same symptoms I came in with and no answers. A nurse suggested consulting a pulmonologist… well ma’am I’m here now, in a HOSPITAL, maybe have one come see me? Can I point out that I HAD a heart attack a month ago and my concerns are legit. My EKG and chest X-ray had abnormalities but they were not “concerning enough” to address apparently. Being told “you’re only 45” on multiple occasions as a reason to write off my symptoms is not acceptable. Real human concern instead of “by the textbook” diagnosis does not exist in this hospital system. True negligence.

So far there has not been an occasion where I can remember I was not pleased nor satisfied with the outcome of my visit to see an LVHN Doctor. They take time set up for me and they talk to me about my care and concerns and together we devise a health plan based on all information gathered. I used to travel all the way from East Stroudsburg to Allentown just so I could have these great doctors care. If you are wondering why I would travel 96 miles round trip just to have an (LVHN) Lehigh Valley, Health Network Doctor when there were other care providers. Well the Doctors are the best and I had complications with having my child. The doctors made me feel safe and well taken care of before or during and after, and all I can tell you is that My Son is here, healthy, well-rounded, and alive because a team of doctors cared for us both in the most crucial time and after. My Son was born with a rare form of jaundice and the doctor never stopped searching and researching his case for a cure. She came up with a plan to help him survive. I never forget when she said I could not sleep thinking about your son and what we need to find out to help him and that was more than enough for me. Lehigh Valley Health Network really has some of the greatest doctors you would want to meet. Thank you all for always being kind, considerate, compassionate, and ready to fulfill your oath. You all are the best of the best.

I really appreciate the ability to access all of my healthcare information past current and future. I like that I can make an appointment with any doctor, specialist or put on a waiting list! The only issue I’ve experienced thus far with making an appointment on the app, was with the plastic surgeons office on Cory Road, in Easton PA. I believe the receptionist called me as I was en route to my appointment and told me they were not going to be able to see me.I didn’t get the message and when I arrived, I was given a hard time about seeing the specialist. The specialist was very apologetic and confused why they weren’t going to have me seen. The assistant/nurse who did my evaluation before seeing the specialist/doctor, then came in and said “we do not like making or taking appointments that are made on the portal “. And I said to her that I thought it was great that we were able to do so and also see last minute appointments and schedule ourselves. She said well we were canceling you to teach them a lesson that we don’t like them doing that. She said it causes too much confusion for the scheduling receptionist, Betty. I’m not sure what’s going on with that situation, but it was not very professional at all. Other than that, I love everything about the portal and I’m sure you’re still working on it accuracy, but I feel that it has been very optimal and immediately updates your texts and phone. thank you for asking for our opinions!
