Maven: The Serendipity Network

The philosophy behind this social network is one that could solve the biggest problems we face when communicating online. By doing away with likes and followers and connecting people based on ideas and interests, it fosters much more meaningful conversation and genuine connection between users. People are more authentic on Maven, less driven to self-promote, less enticed by the goal of popularity growth. The only downside to this app is its small user base, if it had the same amount of users as Twitter it would be a thriving ecosystem and have enough leverage to monetize itself and stay around. I fear people will never get to experience this new way of connecting online due to Maven’s lack of funding and exposure. If the right donors understood the difference this app’s philosophy could make on the world, especially when our social environment is filled with people begging for an answer to the problems our current social networks bring, they could invest in the growth of this app, solving its last hurdle.

I agree with the idea, but they could use some of the features that all the others use too. Captioning pictures, not allowing the phone to close when using the microphone, some basic paragraph editing tools to allow for exclamation. Sure I want to keep things short, but by being” this simple “ I’ll pay around longer, but I don’t see this going anywhere.

Thought about getting this app until I realized I might be investing my time in something that, as soon as revenue, investors, and profit come into play everything changes. It's not about the users anymore but the advertisers. It seems like this will give advertisers even more information on yourself and your interests that they will use against you. I'm assuming they will get paid a lot more with this whole interest based thing but tell us this is for your mental health but really brands are going to start targeting people even more hardcore which I argue has been a massive problem no one is paying attention to? Why aren't people not spending why can't they slow down all of a sudden? Yeah AI is being used against us to track us and overrun us with ads until we impulsively buy something. It's ridiculous and I can already see the opportunity in this app and I see nothing about how the users will make some of the money? I'm tired of sharing my data for free and it being used to make me do things deep down I don't really want. It's dangerous. I do not trust this app being any different from the others unless it's like Blockchain and only employees are owners. And this is just frivolous reddit copycat.
