I’ve been with this app for a while. When I started, all bones were worth $0.50. They are now worth $0.10. That is an 80% decrease. Of course, this happened right as I was about to cash in, because they started adding an expiration date. These two changes should not have been implemented at the same time, and app users should have had a warning. Additionally, there are some strange glitches that happen within the app. Sometimes they resolve themselves; but today’s glitch, for example, won’t let me log in. It just keeps saying, “Something went wrong. Try again later.” I have a pretty decent bone streak going, and if it won’t let me log in before midnight, I’m going to lose that streak and have to start all over. There should be some sort of streak freeze or redemption like a lot of other apps offer. Another glitch prevented me from cashing in my bones at a particular store and saying that they didn’t ship to my location. That one was ridiculous and eventually was resolved weeks later. This app has a lot of potential, but it just doesn’t hit the mark for me. I’ve gotten so frustrated that I have felt like deleting it. The only reason I don’t is that I have gotten cheap stuff for my dog. I say cheap instead of free, because I still have to pay for the shipping, the bones aren’t worth what they were when I joined, and the bones expire now. It’s more like getting a discount or a coupon as opposed to free items.
I initially loved this app when I first downloaded it. I really liked that it felt like a social media account for your dog, and I enjoyed walking around my neighborhood collecting bones. A major selling point for me was being able to collect bones and redeem them for rewards. Over the past few weeks, though, that experience has changed. Bones now have a 30-day expiration date, which on its own might have been manageable. However, the value of the bones was also significantly reduced—from $0.50 per bone to just $0.10. I would have had far less of an issue with this change if the bones didn’t expire. Collecting bones in my neighborhood is already challenging, and adding a 30-day limit completely removes the incentive to use the app. At the very least, the app should have chosen one change or the other—either reduce the value or add an expiration date, not both. Overall, I’m really disappointed, as this took away what made the app enjoyable and worthwhile in the first place
As someone who walks with my dog as often as possible, I get a lot of enjoyment out of the Lev app. Tracking our walks is great, and I love that I can share photos and videos with the community. Everyone there is all-in on sharing photos of our doggies. I love the supportive vibe that the community has. There are unique and quality products available on the marketplace portion of the app, and there are real discounts available through the system of “bones” that can be collected on walks. I’ve made a couple of local friends and have been able to do meet-ups to go for walks, and it’s been really fun! I highly recommend the Lev app to anyone who loves their dogs and enjoys connecting with other dog lovers.
