Knights of Ages

I would like congratulate the creators of such a masterpiece, I’ve been playing it for a couple of years now and honestly I can’t get bored, just as I can’t find a game similar to “knight of ages” in terms of generational development over the centuries, and the fact that these guys could do something like that before anyone else and that no one has matched them despite the ploriferation of AI has even more merit, thank you very much, keep putting content.

Interesting game to get sucked into. Fun combat, fun concept of raising heirs, but a seemingly way too lengthy story to get to the “good bits” of the game. Seems like chapters 1-6 are casual filters, as well as the Return to Bolton quest. Ballistas are just insanely awful. Get used to sacrificing men to complete missions, and having one or two AWESOME characters at a time in your troop. Grab the flower staff from the green village to the far east (when you get there) so your Druid can heal people. It’s hard to level people at a certain point, so make sure you’re grabbing those “Queens Decrees” when it’s unlocked so you can actually level. Why Tawab? Because I didn’t pick Tawab for a name of a child, clicked randomized, and all the random names where in characters I’m unfamiliar with. So I deleted them, left the name blank so it said Tawab in light grey, accepted, and now literally any male that spawns in the taverns are named Tawab. All Tawab. Endless Tawab. Tawab recruits, Tawab marriage candidates, Tawab up to my ears. Makes the game I actually enjoy borderline unplayable. If I ever meet someone named Tawab in real life I do not know what I will do.

The game has an interesting concept and story there’s a lot of things I enjoy. However, the game is severely lacking in many aspects. It feels very rushed. Early on your characters level up incredibly quickly due to main storyline time skips. By the time u have any control and can do anything that isn’t a main story quest ur characters levels are all in the 20’s already and you’ve only played around 3 missions, ur also given a character twice the level of your other character out of almost nowhere, ur supposed to ride this characters coattails till you’ve figured the game out essentially. U have money but the game never really tells u how to use it. The game urges u to accept a side mission as soon as u unlock them. So u go do that but your characters are severely under leveled for the side mission the game recommends and they all die except for the far stronger character. The game actually does pick up once u hit mid game and ur raising up the offspring of the early main cast but the game is still severely lacking in polish. Early on the game states something along the lines of “You can restart a mission whenever u want!” Which sounds great and would be nice since u have absolutely no idea what ur facing since most mission descriptions are awful. But that statement is a lie, u can only restart main missions, side missions you’re locked into. All in all I’ve beaten the game and while I did have fun there is almost no tutorial whatsoever, the game is severely lacking in any kind of polish and quality of life features, there’s not much to do endgame except for a very long side quest going after artifacts. So, I wouldn’t recommend the game to anyone. If you do decide to get the game I’d recommend looking around online for a guide somewhere to save on some frustration early on.
