Kingdom Survivors

I’ve been playing this game for a good while now, and it’s actually genuinely fun. Throughout the game there are no ads. (atleast I have not experienced ANY). The gameplay itself is also super fun getting to choose from so many different types of spells summons and other stuff. The game also has synergies where depending on the chosen upgrades you can unlock synergies buffing certain stats/things. There are also other parts to the game like your city that you construct which allows you to gather resources and upgrades for later runs. There are also different worlds allowing for different types of maps. The one and only critique I have with the game is that there are a lot of re-used maps which gets kind of repetitive. If they keep working on the game fixing some problems like that and adding more upgrades, it’ll make the game super good. (Don’t get me wrong it’s still really good at its current state, and I definitely reccomend checking it out.)

TLDR: One of the very best survivor-likes available on Any platform. A must play for connoisseurs of the genre! By the time VS eventually made it to mobile, there were already thousands of clones, now there’s likely millions. The vast majority of them look and play virtually alike. Even down to the boring straight-line “skill tree” and equipment system “borrowed” from Archero, they’re essentially the same game. Yet, every so often someone makes a F2P mobile game that is not only very unique and crafted with care, but additionally, it’s also NOT a P2W nightmare. Kingdom Survivors has everything you could want in a Survivor-like, amazing music, pretty pixels, and a meta-game that’s truly unique among all Survivor-likes whither they’re on PC/Mobile or Free/Paid, KS is putting an original and highly polished spin on the genre and it’s a great shame that it will be overlooked by some because so many shovelware devs have tarnished the “Free on Mobile” label. I hope this game does well, and I really hope they retool it into a Paid Game and put it on Steam. At the right price point, this game would sell amazingly well, as would any quality crafted DLC and/or soundtrack. Even as a F2P on PC, I’m positive it would stand out better as there aren’t nearly the number of F2P survivors on Steam as there is currently in the AppStore.

Kingdom Survivors is one of my favorite games in the rogue-like + horde-smasher genre. I am very much in love with how much variety there is with spells, synergies, hero skills, and the building effects. I am very certain I’ve never played a single level with the same exact set of spells or upgrades. Which is great because it means the levels never get stale or boring. I will say there are a couple things that could get improvement/fixing, though these things are not necessarily major issues. First, the amount of time it takes to get points for the building skill tree is quite long after the first couple points. The progress feels quite slow when you aren’t using a boost. Second, the difficulty spikes provided by 1) threat level, and 2) world progress, feel steep but not impossible, probably requiring better strategy/stats as a player rather than a tweak on the dev side of things.
