Iowa Mobile ID

I like the idea of having my license on my phone, but I’m giving three stars because they failed to provide wallet support like some other states do. You keep your ID in your wallet. It shouldn’t be any different on your phone. The main use of mobile ID would be for purchases. It would be nice if it was right by my cards in my phone to speed up checkout times. I really really hope in the future they can make it work. EDIT: Turns out there are no plans to make it Apple Wallet compatible at this time. Leave it to this state to come up with something cool, and then ruin it. This isn’t that hard if Georgia can do it. Come on! Down to two stars.

Haven’t had a chance to use it yet but it wasn’t difficult to set up at all and it’ll probably come in handy if I forget my ID. I would say probably try and face a light while you’re scanning your face. I hope this replaces physical IDs entirely!

Enrollment was very quick and simple. App did a good job of prompting me through the process and explaining why the various steps were required. I feel like I have good control over what aspects of my ID are shared when requested in various situations (airport, store, etc).
