Arizona Mobile ID

I’ve used this app since it was first developed and found it really useful for a long time. I’m one to update as early as possible, use beta profiles for iOS, etc. and this was never a problem. When I updated to iOS 17, I experienced the same crash bug as everyone else; I left feedback to Idemia and was told the app would be ready to support iOS 17 by the time it released publicly. No problem, except it wasn’t… for a month. After the month went by I was excited to update and try the app again, only to get stuck unable to scan the back of my ID, like everyone else. At that point, I was annoyed, but figured a patch would be out soon enough to get the app working. Another few weeks go by before the app is updated to “widen support for iPhone 15” and I try today to sign in. I get past the ID scan only to get stuck on the very next step when the facial scan doesn’t work. I’m not sure if there is a lack of support for the development team at Idemia or if the team needs an overhaul, but after almost 2 months, the app is still unusable. At this point, I’d rather see it removed from the App Store altogether than for people to be able to download it and not use it. I hope someone actually reads these reviews and cares enough to put forth the effort to make the app function as it once did.

Great to be able to have your license on your phone! Surprising that our AZ would be an early adapter! The app is easy except for the facial recognition part, where you have to connect dots “using your nose.” Sounds easy but it took a frustrating number of tries, and the app ejects you if you have too many unsuccessful tries, and you have to start at the beginning again. I think the key is not to move your head too much, and to just go slowly. The line of dots you’re working with is kind of jumpy, so I think it’s easy to get ahead of it, it can’t keep up with you. In the final image, once you’ve succeeded, there’s just a very slight motion effect; so again don’t overdo it with the head movements. For the convenience, at least within AZ, worth the efforts.

First off when taking the photos where you align the dots the instructions were unclear. I took about 20 photos and was rejected. Went to help chat and got clear instructions from a rep. This made the photo a snap. So I get the mID sorted out and go back to the AZDMV to finally get license added to wallet. That site then puts up a an image that it says must be scanned to add license to wallet. I doesn’t make sense to scan except with mID app. I login to that app and it has a scan option. When I select that it says use to scan image on site you are interested in. But how do I do that? If I switch to the window with the image the mID is hidden. lf I show the scan image the mID is hidden. So I’m sure I’m missing something as there are many good reviews. Here is what really jacked my jaws and led to me deleting the app: I tried over and over to use the help chat to see what part of the process I was not understanding. I would start inputting the info they asked for and the app would switch back to logging me in. It did this over and over. Then I thought I would use email. When I tried to do that it said I needed to set up an email to contact them. This is a very shaky operation as far as I can see.
