Neon has some good content, but the app logs out frequently - and asks for passwords and revalidation - which is really annoying. But accessing downloads and watching on airplane mode (or when zero WiFi coverage) is hopeless. You need to log in, and start a download *before* you lose coverage. If I try and start the app once in airplane mode, there’s no ability to open your profile, to then get to the streaming UI. No other streaming platform behaves in this way, and it frustrates using the app on air travel. Hard to imagine it passed all its tests in the App Review process before being approved for release.

Love the selection - I find most of my favourite series on Neon. The phone app is hard work though - it regularly closes out of shows several minutes before the end. And it often takes a few attempts to start an episode – it tries to open and then reverts back to the home screen about five times.

Paying to download is a scam. It will only allow you to download 5 episodes at a time. You cannot access the app without data even if you have downloads. If by some miracle you manage to get in without data the app will quit on you every 3 minutes and make you repeat the process. On top of that there is a weird glitch where if you try and re-download something it will tell you it’s already on your device even if you have gone through your storage all your accounts and deleted it. Also it will randomly just not let you play episodes you’ve downloaded and deleted even if you are connected to wifi. Complete waste of time and money.
