Nurture Pregnancy Week by Week

In 2018 when i went through my first pregnancy with my daughter this app was fantastic. I could track everything, the interface was fun and beautiful i loved seeing how the baby was changing and the insights i read were helpful for a first time mom to be. Fast forward to now, what you may not know if you never used the app previously is the lovely articles that appear to ease your mind and inform you of the changes taking place etc were mostly all readable and free— no subscription required. There was usually one premium article that was blocked from your reading pleasure unless you subscribed to that level of service. I’m really unhappy to see that ALL the articles are now blocked without a premium subscription. I’m sorry but if this isn’t money grabbing i don’t know what it is. At least grandfather in those of us who became members before this change was made. The message boards remain 100% accessible but i absolutely dislike this area of the app and therefore it is useless to me. A word of caution to others reading this, steer clear from the message board community, the anxiety that comes along with pregnancy is normal and inevitable, and this area of the app will only make you question everything further and make it worse! Thus and so I stick to tracking and reading articles through this app and it was so perfect for that. Now that premium subscription is required to read what’s going on I will be looking into other apps that provide similar features without needing my money. Sad I won’t be able to take Glow with me on my latest and last pregnancy journey.

The old app style was great, now the homepage is all clustered, I can’t find where anything is, and god forbid I swipe down (which used to bring you to the calendar but now takes you to the next day, as if that’s something I needed quick access to). There’s no easy button to go back to “today” like there used to be, there’s no way to get rid of the extra days you accidentally swiped down, and there’s no indication on the calendar of what “today” is (as a night shift worker I don’t know what the date is usually so now I just have to press on random days and guess, or check my other phone calendar) so if you want to get back to today to fill out your log you have to swipe all the way down past all the extra days you opened up. It’s exhausting. I’m pregnant, I can’t do exhausting. I paid for premium ($60!) for this app because I liked it so much, I hate this new update, please let there be an option to go back to the old style (at least for premium members). Also, you used to get 1-3 special recommended premium articles per day, but now it doesn’t recommend the premium articles. Please bring these recommended daily premium articles back, I am not digging through thousands of premium articles per day to find 2 random ones when I don’t even know what I should be reading at this stage in my pregnancy. You guys know, you guys should recommend the articles. As you used to. For an app that is supposed to make pregnancy easier it sure just got a lot more irritating.

This app is great for all the essential items you should track during your pregnancy. Some of my favorite features are the time lapse photo feature built right into the app, the fact that you can add your own supplements and have it remind you to take them daily, and the water tracker. I also love how there are several articles every day that correspond with what’s going on in your body and with baby. It makes learning about pregnancy much more manageable and fun for a first time mom because you’re learning about it in real time! I do wish there was a way to turn off the community feature within the app, simply because I don’t like that it always gives me notifications there for things I have no interest in or haven’t previously interacted with. I have asked questions to the community and gotten great, helpful responses, but I just wish there was a way to mute the feature when I’m not using it. I also wish they had more moods in their mood tracker, but the ones they have are usually pretty inclusive and I can find one that’s close to what I’m actually feeling. Overall, a great app! Highly recommend buying the premium for all the features!
