This game has been fun and atmospherically pleasing to me, but since the recent update I can't stand it. The new navigation control responds to clicks instantly, making it frustrating to just look around the map and compare islands. Maybe this is okay with a mouse, but not on a touchscreen. The new trade menu is efficient, but I liked seeing the item artwork and considering trades visually. It should be switchable. Edit 1: Thank you for the prompt response. I haven't uninstalled, and look forward to a future update that strikes the right balance on controls and display! Edit 2: Thank you, the map controls are much better now. I like being able to control the zoom. Still not sold on the trade screen, but it's playable again 👍
I saw another review that talked about a game save being lost. I just wanted to share my experience that I played a few hours today and tbh I was a bit lost on what to do but still found my way. Turns out, the game never triggered me talking to anyone but the first guy. I didn’t even have the main quest on my screen the whole first session I played. I imagine, like you said in another post, that the tutorial flag never turned off. So I don’t think it has anything to do with the connection to icloud, I think it’s because of that issue of the main story never progressing forward after talking to the first character in the beginning.
I never played the PC version, but the mobile version is such an enjoyable experience. Sound and visuals are pleasant. Mechanics are tight. There’s an air of “I have no idea what I’m doing”, but it’s not a negative. It feels like you’re gifted a world to explore and trade in, figuring out your own way. Cozy. That’s the best way to explain it.
