Traditional cryptics are pretty brutal to learn - this game simplifies the approach also adding satisfying swipe/click combinations to reach the solution. It takes a long time to really get good at these kinds of puzzles. After you do the tutorial and a couple dozen or so daily puzzles - the easier ones… you’ll start to solve in around a minute or so - I think my fastest easy one was 17 seconds now after playing since the web version came a few weeks ago - the harder ones will still take a few minutes - dont be afraid to start brute forcing with hints and checks if you get stuck. Just keep on it - and as you get better it’s significantly more satisfying.
This is not an easy word game and really makes you think. The puzzles are cleverly made and feel very rewarding if you can complete a puzzle without any hints. Takes a minute to get used to how the game works. Recommend watching the Parseword 101 videos.
This and Minute Cryptic are my 2 go-to daily brainteaser apps! The only reason this review isn’t a 5-star is because I need an archive of older puzzles! (FAQ says it’s in the works)
