This is a fun, unusual, amusingly designed word game. Originally I left a lower review because the glitch I describe below was frustrating. But I discovered I don’t have to reboot the iPad…just close the game and come back later. And there are my scores! Earlier review: When I’ve played, in solo mode, the game ends, asked me to wait for results, then shows me an ad (both times for Monopoly Go). The ad ends and…nothing. I can’t close it, waiting does nothing, tapping on the ad just gives me the option to download Monopoly. Have to shut down the iPad completely to get rid of the ad. I never get results. This is…um…frustrating. Makes me not want to play again.
This is the best word-related app I’ve found in a long time. My brain is dredging up words I’d forgotten I knew. I especially enjoy the multiplayer mode. A few stall glitches, but that will improve, I’m sure. I have one recommendation. After a multiplayer Wordplay game is finished, there are only two options - Rematch with the same player or Quit. If you want to keep playing, but with a different player, you have to quit and go back through screens to get a new player. Is there a way to put all options on one screen after the end of a multiplayer match? As in Rematch (same player), New Player, or Quit?
I really like this game, the multiplayer is amazing. I’ll play this game for 30 minutes at a time and it keeps my attention with the constantly changing rules. One of my only complaints with multiplayer is that the dictionary should be expanded, but besides that it’s really fun. The problem with this game, in my opinion, comes with the solo game, specifically splat. Splat has a great concept, but the issue comes with the letters spawning. With my experience, I’ll be waiting for a good 10-20 seconds waiting for just a vowel. And most of the time that vowel can only be used for a 4-5 letter word due to too many S letters or some other syllable. I feel like if you upped the spawning rate/increased the chances for vowels to spawn it could be a lot more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a really fun game. I just think Splat could be improved upon. Keep working on this and I think it could be one of my and many other’s favorite game!
