I’ve been really enjoying using the Whitworths Smart Nutrition app. What I love most is that it focuses on the quality of what you’re eating rather than just pushing weight loss. It feels much more positive and realistic, and it’s helped me pay more attention to balanced nutrition and making healthier choices overall without feeling pressured or restricted. The app is easy to follow and the approach feels supportive, not judgmental, which is a refreshing change compared to a lot of other nutrition apps. The only downside is that it can be a little clunky at times, and a few parts of the navigation could be smoother. But overall it’s a great tool and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their diet in a healthier, more sustainable way.
I have been using the app for 7 days. It’s not perfect but it’s the best tracking app I have used. The first few days I tracked everything I ate without trying to alter my diet. Then I used the data to improve my diet and have lost 1.8 pounds in 3 days! I am aware that it will be water weight, not fat loss but I’m ecstatic either way! Not all prepackaged food is recognised so I use my common sense and find something similar. I have found it brilliant for tracking fibre, B12, iron and vitamin C. It’s made me eat more nuts and seeds which of course is the point as it’s sponsored by Whitworths. Great work by Leeds University and Whitworths - thank you!
It’s very easy to find details of an aspect of my current diet and the vitamin breakdown is impressive. There’s obviously been a lot of user testing carried out on this, however, I have a question- is there a method to add supplements? Out of necessity I take various forms of vitamin supplements, including fish oil and feel it is important to include.
