Foxtale - Guided Journal

I was looking for an app to where I could journal and try and understand my emotions and Foxtale looked promising. I Struggle with high anxiety and was trying to find productive ways to channel my energy and accomplish more during the day. That’s when I decided to give Foxtale a try. It’s similar to other virtual care pet apps but this is the first one that coaches and inspires people with emotional challenges. After several days I was really enjoying it and came daily to be encouraged, learning to see challenges not as obstacles but as pathways to improvement. Not being able to Afford another premium app I declined their offer for Foxtail PLUS. But after being rewarded with 3 Foxtale PLUS days free, with no obligations I found being a PLUS user had its advantages. More clothing and furnishings available. More journeys. It was nice. Then when that ended I was given a shot at Foxtail PLUS at a really rock bottom price for being a loyal user for those 3 free days. Before I could say yes the offer disappeared and was replaced with a less optimal offer and my hope of getting Foxtale PLUS evaporated. Left confused and disappointed. It is however a great app and has real potential for those who can afford PLUS. It’s even great using the free version. I’m a little frustrated but will more than likely continue using Foxtale as hope for a less stressful tomorrow is something we all need.

I have used so many different similar types of apps, but this is the first one that I’m sticking with and I plan on paying for the subscription when my trial is up. First of all it’s so cute and such a pleasure to navigate. Everything is laid out nicely in the app. The journaling part of the app is so wonderful to use. I love that. It gives templates for different emotions and I love that. It doesn’t let you pick a neutral option because it actually really helps me to really know myself and do deeper work instead of just going through the motions. I also love that when you are journaling and you tap on an emotion it’ll give you a little definition. I find that seeing the emotions laid out like they are and seeing the definitions of each emotion actually helps me to notice things that I would’ve glossed over. I like that you can choose a pleasant overall feeling, but still add unpleasant emotions, I’ve done some apps before where they don’t let you do that. I really love that they add references at the end of each “journey” with a sentence that summarizes each reference and how it’s relevant to the journey. I love that it lets you have a gratitude jar and a “proud moment” jar. This app has really helped me to navigate my emotions and by being able to do that I’m able to manage them better. I absolutely adore this app and I hope it doesn’t go anywhere. I am so thankful I found it!!!

I came across an ad for this app and I think it mentioned adhd which I have. (Late diagnoses club). I downloaded it a couple of weeks after my older sister passed. I went straight into the Sacred Savanna and it really helped me navigate the most intense grief I’ve ever encountered. The emotional check in and emotional vocabulary are helpful. I’ve been using it for months now and I’ve only missed a couple of days. I’ve kept up with it because I want that elephant’s wisdom but I can’t get it unless I do the work. I also really like the gratitude jar. It’s an important practice and I really struggled to find things to be grateful for in the darkest days of my grief but I have managed to have far more hearts in my jar than days I’ve participated and that is gratifying. I’ve finished the Sacred Savanna but I’m continuing to revisit its lessons each day. I do look forward to engaging with other books when I’m ready. There are some features I haven’t even gotten into yet but I expect I will eventually Idk if I’ll be able to stick with it forever but for this difficult season, it has been a very useful tool in my toolkit.
