My friend was kind enough to treat me to a birthday meal and we figured we’d splurge a bit and have it delivered. We chose to try out Eat Street for the first time - even though their estimated delivery time was FAR longer than other competitors- because they had a coupon deal and the charges were less than other competitors that we’ve used in the past, so it was a bit cheaper overall. When the food finally arrived, it was the wrong order entirely. I contacted customer service via the app and after waiting a long time even though I was supposedly first in line… in the end they told us they were refunding the meal and that we could expect the funds back in 2-5 business days. I asked if it were possible to have the food redelivered instead but was told along the lines of “I already processed your refund just reorder it now”. No- the funds won’t be back for 2-5 business days. The food we received is not what we ordered, and the meat is far undercooked to our liking, and not to mention was COLD because we waited so long to get an answer from customer service. HIGHLY do not recommend- I’m sure there’s a reason their Facebook page is inactive, they don’t have Google reviews available, and their Better Business Bureau page is filled with horrible experiences. I only wish I would have read more reviews beforehand, should have never used this terrible service.
I would give this zero stars if I could. I placed an order through EatStreet for a fast food restaurant on a Monday night. A few minutes after placing the order, I received a message and email from EatStreet advising me that the order was cancelled by the restaurant and they’d be issuing a refund. Whatever, no big deal. The following Tuesday morning I was working from home when my apartment buzzer started to ring off the hook. I am a single woman who lives alone and was not expecting anyone. So I looked out my window that faces down over the front door and saw a (rather sketchy) looking man repeatedly and agitatedly ringing my buzzer. I was obviously frightened so I ignored it and contemplated calling either the landlord or the police. I then received a call and voicemail from an unknown number, which turned out to be the man very angrily instructing me to come outside and get my food (which he described as the cancelled order items). He left after about 15 minutes, and I immediately reached out to EatStreet customer support to report the incident and ask how my information came into the hands of this man for an order that was CANCELLED YESTERDAY. Their response was basically, “Oops, our bad. Not sure how that happened. We’ll forward your feedback to our driving team.” Barely even an apology for an incident where my personal information was basically compromised and led to a very frightening confrontation. DO NOT USE THIS APP.
I’ve been using EatStreet for years and never had any issues, but recently have had two very negative experiences and have deleted the app altogether. First, I ordered a deep dish pizza from a local Chicago style restaurant. The ETA was 45 minutes and about 45 minutes into me waiting for my food the ETA changed to a total of an hour and 45 minutes. I reached out to customer service to see what was taking so long and they said they’d look into and that the order would be arriving at the new arrival time of an hour and 45 minutes later. They gave me no explanation for why it took over twice as long as originally estimated and did not offer anything for my inconvenience. Secondly and much more frustrating was the most recent issue. My girlfriend placed an order and was given an ETA of an hour and 10 minutes. We live just 10 minutes from this particular restaurant so we thought we’d just cancel the order and go to the restaurant ourselves to save the wait. NOPE! When talking with customer service they said we can not cancel the order because the driver is already on the way to the store.... so please explain that one to me EatStreet. Why is the driver already on their way to the restaurant if the food allegedly won’t be ready for another hour?? So apparently it’s impossible to cancel your order even seconds after placing it when it won’t even be picked up for roughly an hour. I’m strongly disappointed in the blatant lack of customer service and will not be wasting my money on this service ever again.
