I took a questionnaire at my annual check up and turns out I’m stressed and anxious (aren’t we all). As a part of a treatment to help me manage this, my doctor prescribed me CalmiGo. I was extremely skeptical that this would help because I don’t have panic attacks and the device seemed to be focused on breathing which wasn’t something I considered my anxiety to manifest through. Boy howdy was I wrong. The device was delivered on one of the most stressful days of my professional career and I noticed a huge difference in my mood after trying it out for the first time. I now use it before bed and anytime things start to feel overwhelming. The app is cute but a little buggy, overall though I like how it’s a gamified anxiety treatment. My one wish is that I could set a timer for less that 3 minutes but I’m sure that’s a magic number for a reason. The device is incredible and the customer service team is AMAZING, overall I’m extremely happy with CalmiGo!

I love my CalmiGo. I use mine at least once a day before I start my work day, and I usually am able to use it twice a day. The app is great because there’s a 3 minute timer in there with songs that are exactly 3 minutes long. I love the first one, Falling Leaves. It’s part of my grounding ritual. As soon as I hear the notes of that song, I feel instantly better, and I feel calmer and calmer throughout the three minutes. There are other song options for when I’m feeling like I want some variety too. I also really love the fact that you can dim and brighten the lights on the CalmiGo using the app. That feature is especially useful in the middle of the night! CalmiGo has helped me when I feel especially anxious, but I find that using it regularly, even when I’m feeling totally fine, allows me to feel great throughout the whole day. 5 stars!

I just got my CalmiGo device, and while I have had a good experience so far, I am disappointed with the app. I was hoping for an insightful app that tracked my device usage and provided data about my breathing to monitor my progress so I could get real feedback on if this is helping with anxiety. It’s very off putting to have to progress in some mobile game before being able to access my information. If you want to include some game, make it an additional feature, not a main feature and a gate to keep you from accessing important information - literally - having to reach a certain level in the game with a daily time lock that prevents you from progressing further. It significantly tarnishes the appeal of the device and makes zero sense to expect people to play a game to get to features that are actually helpful and that people like me need. I really hope they make some changes because this is absurd and I’m quite surprised it’s required for a device claiming to help with anxiety and stress.
