I had some problem with my cards today. I called up American Express and was attended by Manoo. Manoo is very polite and patience. He took time to listen to me and help me resolved them one by one. He is very clear in his speech and his voice is very charming. He is very well versed in his work. He has given me the assurance and clarity when I was very uncertain. I am very very grateful and thankful to be served by Manoo. Thank you so much Manoo. American Express always has very excellent customer service. They are always there to listen to your problem and used their professionalism to resolve for customer.
I’ve been using online payments with Amex US and other thousands of merchants for years now. Why can’t Amex SG get its act together and allow for FAST (same day) payment via app? Why is it so difficult to pay a company that is supposed to facilitate payments? Why can’t one of the largest financial institutions of the world that prides itself about making payments easy, can’t even allow its own customers to pay in real time. Most annoyingly, Amex SG requires up to 3 working days (simply pathetic in 2019) to Process a SG-to-SG direct deposit to pay its bills. Do you really want us as clients to believe that while the money is out of our paying bank account, it takes you Amex SG, 3 days to process it? If it really does take 3 days, you should simply close shop for gross incompetence and lack of understanding of operational efficiency. What I unfortunately suspect after my conversation with your call center and reading your fine print (again pathetic lack of clarity) is that the issue is that this is just a tactic to charge your loyal clients extra fees for late payments or interest when someone pays close to the due date. As a long term client, I deem these behaviours as disrespectful and insulting and simply don’t match my needs. I will not tolerate them and simply switch should they ever occur. Get your act together Amex SG and treat your clients with respect or we’ll all leave.
In this new release, Amex say that “we have listened to your feedback”. Well, Amex, it’s clear you have NOT. Apart from some GUI cleanups that no-one needs, the app is still very basic with virtually no improvements. What still is missing is the following: 1. Ability to customise notifications It is not possible to go into my iPhone settings and set how I want to be notified of the app notifications (ribbon, on lock screen, disable notifications completely etc). There simply is no entry for the app in the Settings > Notification section of the iPhone. Deleting, restarting, restarting the AMEX App didn‘t fix this. It‘s also not possible to customise push notifications in the app itself. 2. No possibility to update one‘s profile There is no possibility to update your profile in the app (address, phone number etc). 3. Not possible to dispute transactions It should be possible to tap a transaction, and dispute it through the app by filling out a simple form. Why make it cumbersome, and have me call customer service as opposed to just doing it through the app. 4. Magnetic strip activation & disabling No possibility to enable/disable the magnetic strip through the app. 5. No easy possibility to contact customer service It is not possible to reach customer service through the app with a few taps (no form is launched, and there is no „contact me“ form built into the app). The only option the FAQ/Contact us section gives is „please call the number at the back of your card“. Really?!
