Lots of fun. A strange omission.

Definitely kept me hooked all the way to Level 500, it balances out the challenge levels and goals to be met nicely. This will absolutely keep you occupied on the subway or the couch or when you have nothing to do at your desk. A couple of notes: In the endless mode, forks in the road don’t actually affect the landscape you’re running on, which makes me wonder why they’re there at all. And it’s very hard to ignore the way one character seems to get no developer love: Everyone on the team gets at least two bonus outfits except for Barry, who gets… none. That’s odd enough until you notice that it’s the only Black man in the game who’s singled out this way, at which point it becomes… a little sus. Fix this, guys.

Give it up to Temple runs!

Temple runs has really made its way into my everyday life! From its unique story to it’s amazing gameplay, I think this game is off the charts sort of fun when it comes to a boring after noon sitting on you’re couch. Than once you pull out you’re phone or iPad or whatever you may have, and start playing temple runs, you’ll find that you just can’t bring yourself to stop! And by the time you finally do it’ll you will have already been sitting there for hours! Therefore I think Temple runs would be a great choice for you and you’re friends!

Fun but played pretty safe, with some questionable design decisions

Been waiting for this all month since I’ve loved Temple Run since the first one (even the Disney Oz and Pixar’s Brave one’s too!) and level based runners. I just unlocked the daily objectives, so I feel like I have a good understanding of the game overall. The objectives are as you think, collect x coins, jump/slide x obstacles, and then there’s collect x treasure chests. I’d be fine with there being a set number of chests on the level, but there’s no visual clues on if you need to go underground or stay above ground. What makes some of the levels more questionable is you have to play through it at least twice as while you’re getting one chest (under or above ground,) there may be another chest you have no way of getting during the same run. It’s frustrating when you think of level based, it’s a one and done each. The endless mode + cumulative runs are really fun as it has the idea of an objective, but over a ‘level’ that’s procedurally generated. Bonus points for the ‘off the beaten path’ routes if you want a little of a challenge. But the game just came out, so there’s a good foundation to work with. I’m hoping the developers can upgrade and fine tune it. Maybe a daily, weekly, or monthly challenge mode/level to keep it fresh and current?
