After using this “dating app” for 3 week, this is my experience so far. For one, this app is not a “dating app”; not sure why it claims to be one. 70% are people who are looking for friends while 20% they don’t really say what they’re looking for, not sure why they’re sign up to this app or just checking the app out. The other 10% are people who are already married or in a relationship who’s into being in a poly relationship. Secondly, no idea why Nevermet implemented filters to exclude certain choices such as people who are looking for friends when it doesn’t work. Been seeing other reviews mentioning this as well and hope this gets fixed. Lastly, the conversation I had felt like a waste of my time. I had a few interaction hoping to make some genuine friends or partner, but it never last long. For example, I tried adding their discord because you don’t get any notification for dm on this app and they would recommend me to add them there, but I would only receive 1-2 messages from them before they stopped replying. Not blaming Nevermet, but it’s very unfortunate that people aren’t really interested in having social conversation when matched and it lead me questioning myself why are they actually here? Or why did they decide to match when they aren’t interested? Overall not a good experience with this app or the people, wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, but hope it will get better over time.
So I saw this app on VRChat. Decided to check it out. There’s quite a few things you need to consider before getting involved with this app. (1) If someone likes you, you have little to no way of knowing they did because it’s locked behind a large paywall. $20 USD reoccurring monthly fee. There’s real dating apps out there that cost far less. (2) Most of the time people just want you for money, it’s relatively constant. You will talk to someone and it turns into them wanting to make you a commission or an avatar. Supposedly. Generally always scams. (3) There’s a lot of inactive profiles. They might like yours, and you connect with them by liking back, but they don’t talk. They just don’t talk or a week will go by and they still haven’t spoke even if you speak first. (4) They aren’t active on the metaverse you have selected. I have met a good number of people who supposedly have VRChat but say they don’t play it. Then why the F are they even on there?? (5) There’s no option for the trans community. At all. You have Male/Female/Non Binary. There needs to be a Trans option of some sort. Other places have that, why doesn’t this app? (6) Over all the app seems dead and lacking features especially for the price they ask. And yea, I paid for one month of premium to really leave a review on this app. So far I will let my subscription run out, will be deleting my account, and telling my VRChat friends to steer clear.
For any of you who may of had issues accessing Nevermet I would advise joining the discord server, The way the app protects you from minors is by providing a way of verifying your identity using an ID, once complete you will receive a blue checkmark on your profile you may also filter your feed to only show age verified users, A lot of these negative reviews seem to be simple misunderstandings and I do believe in the application and it’s use! I found my long term partner here who has since moved in with me and I couldn’t be happier, It’s all thanks to Nevermet :) if you ever need help or have questions you can join their discord and they will be more than happy to help you out!
