This is the worst app Iโve ever used for this type of service. Downloaded it on my commute thinking Iโd get ahead of the notoriously slow line - only to have it completely brick my phone. Had to Google how to reset a frozen phone once I got to my office. Truly a great start. Later that day, gave it a second chance. The interface is an absolute disaster - wall-to-wall magazine shoot photos when all you want is to find the coffee. The menu is a horizontal scroll bar with no โCoffeeโ label anywhere. You click Iced Drinks - nope, thatโs $10 fruity specialty drinks. You scroll all the way down and eventually find actual coffee buried at the bottom. Then you notice the prices are higher than ordering in person. HIGHER. At Maman. You decide to order anyway - at least you can skip the line. You survive the whole ordeal, fill your cart, and then it asks you to select a pickup time. Not 5 minutes. Not 10. TWENTY MINUTES. (I think it was actually 40 but Iโm a kind person.) Lucky for them theyโre the only coffee shop near my office. They still got my business. But not because of this app. Despite it.
2.0 update broke the app, so for the last few months, I cannot scan in-store, order in advance, earn reward points, nor use them. I've spent at least enough to have cashed in one free coffee, and the front of house sales staff cannot help fix this. There are passable substitutions, with their own apps and rewards programs, also within range of my commute. Pity is, I like the actual in person locations and service Maman storefronts provide. Love the product, hate this app.
Iโm a loyal customer, and I had my first experience at the Lincoln Center location. I ordered my usual- iced matcha latte with unsweetened almond milk. The app asks you to tip at time of order. When I picked up my order, I took a dip and noticed the almond milk had sugar; again, Iโm a loyal customer. I asked the barista if it had unsweetened almond milk; she wasnโt sure. It became obvious that she was new. A more experienced barista was there and said they ran out of the unsweetened almond milk. She was a bit defensive. Instead of apologizing that they ran out and making me aware, I was treated as a nuisance. And for this I tipped. Never revisiting that location. I was asking for bare minimum service; nothing extraordinary. That experience was a blemish on an otherwise gorgeous Sunday in NYC.
