Never lets me update firmware as stated. Always says too many in queue try again tomorrow. It shouldn’t be that hard to allow users to update firmware when notified. I also don’t like how the temperature needs to be a certain temp for both burners to remain on so basically it’s only a half grill and I can’t bbq on the whole grill under a certain temp.
To start with the kudos, pairing the app with my smoker was extremely easy. Basically stand near the smoke with Bluetooth enabled and it will be discovered. Very easy to add to the wi-fi as well. After that though, it’s mostly downhill. The app is buggy and crashes. Timers don’t work at all, connectivity once set up is spotty, and overall I just don’t trust it. Maybe it will improve, but I kinda doubt it.
Running my second smoke with the Oakford 790 and the app is complete junk. It has to reconnect with the unit every time I want to check the app, won’t connect via Wi-Fi, doesn’t allow temperature changes on the fly, the app straight up does NOT WORK. Having the Wi-Fi connectivity was the number one reason I bought this grill and without it, it just a glorified Z Grill. Can’t even get any troubleshooting information without having to call their call center, which is closed of course. Not impressed.
