First of all, the connectivity works great! I know some reviews mentioned issues with that but mine connects right away. Make sure you don’t place a cup before you start a recipe though, or it won’t move to the next step. I love all of the recipes that are available and the fact that you can create your own recipes. I have two suggestions that would make this into a 5 star review: 1. There should be a quick option to increase the number of servings you are making of a cocktail instead of manually adjusting the measurements. 2. I have some ingredients that the app doesn’t recognize, like some infused syrups and lesser known liquors. I’m unable to add an ingredient unless it’s recognized by the app, so there should be an option to add custom ingredients.
The app/coasters been pretty nice so far. Good with measuring and giving drink ideas. However I wish there was more opportunities with recipes. Adding steps like shaking/straining into recipes could help a ton so when I remove a glass to shake the coaster doesn’t immediately freak out thinking the glass is gone. And with options to top off a drink with something, I’ve got a recipe in my book that I’ve written in you top off the drink with sparkling wine or soda and instead of leaving it til the end it throws the ingredient into the middle of the recipe. I also think it would be nice to have an option to search for recipes that include one liquer or mixer so you can see other options of drinks and what other ingredients you can go get to make them. It’s a good app and concept, just needs tweaks to become better
I got my Barsys coaster as a Christmas gift last year. I was so excited to have all the drinks at the palm of my hand with the ease of simply just pouring. When I got into the app, it had a luxury feel with the black background and photos of the different recipes. I used a handful of cocktails and made my own adjustments accordingly (I’m definitely a light weight). The problems came when I tried to make an amaretto sour. Not only did they not have the basic recipe for an amaretto sour, but it wouldn’t even allow me to create the recipe. Using the “craft” button after inputting the recipe, the app then prompted me to attach a coaster or the Barsys 360. After attaching my coaster, it kicked me out of the recipe page. I thought maybe because my bar wasn’t updated in the app, it thought I might not have the proper items. When I went to put amaretto as an ingredient in my bar, it got stuck on the loading screen. After 10 minutes, I closed out the app and just made it with my shaker. When the coaster works or the recipe is already in the app, this is an amazing product. But when it’s not, it’s not. Hopefully they get everything fixed as I would love to start using it for my parties again.
