Why so much personal information needed? Just want to track a package. Why do you need my first name, last name, email and phone number?
Edit: Dev responded that this is to link PII to profile, and apply preferences. Also that it’s explained in the Ts and Cs , so I guess that makes it ok?! Developer should get a clue that this doesn’t make an app good or likeable and this should be optional , or allow app to store shipments without PII. This is a German company for goodness sake, they should know better

Perhaps the app developer lives under a rock and doesn’t know that there are literally hundreds of thousands of people living/working/traveling in the UK (and doing so successfully) while keeping their home-country telephone numbers instead of signing up for UK telephones. Bad news if you, like me, are in this situation because you are out of luck. You can’t use the app. Utterly stupid.

It requires a mobile number that starts with 07 but all my numbers start with 06. Can't adjust that. Also it's unclear how to choose your country in the app.

Help our drivers to locate you. Upload a photo of the property and let us know any delivery instructions. We’ve added what3words so you can give us the unique combination of three words for your address to help the driver find exactly where you are.
Use our expanded Delivery Preferences so you can let us know if you’d like the driver not to disturb you during delivery. Just let us know whether you’d like the parcel delivered to a neighbour or left in your safe place.
Let us know if there is a preferred neighbour you’d like the driver to deliver to, or if there is a neighbour who the driver should not disturb.
Upload a photo of your safe place so the driver knows where to leave your parcel.
Set your delivery preferences in My Profile and we’ll automatically apply these.

Want to know more about how your parcel will be delivered? Select Change Delivery Instructions and we’ll tell you what will happen with your parcel if you’re not at home and what alternative options are available.
Active and Past Deliveries
Using the DHL Parcel UK app you can see deliveries which are due and track when these will be with you. When we have delivered your parcel, you can view this in Past deliveries.
