Backgammon Champs - Board Game

First backgammon game I’ve played that has random rolls. Sometimes, but rarely, it freezes. Most people complaining are just bad at the game. I used to complain to myself (not write a review) because I wasn’t good at the game. While I believe the responses to other reviews aren’t the most professional, I can understand why… People always complain about the algorithm when it comes to their variety of rolls more than anything else. These developers finally brought a backgammon game with fair rolls; that has been almost impossible to find through an incredibly long process of trial and error. Thank you all for creating this app!

I have already edited my first review, perhaps unfairly in frustration, and I cannot seem to edit it again so I will try to make amends here. This is a very good backgammon game overall, and probably the best PvP backgammon game for iOS. It pairs you with real people. It doesn’t glam up the game with stupid power ups. The dice rolling seems realistic, even though any bad streak can feel like there’s a conspiracy. It does pop up a few paid power ups but not too much. But I have to take off a point because on a couple occasions I have been in the lead in the closing moves, only to have the game stop responding to my input, with a perfectly robust internet connection. I removed another point because when I pointed this out in my amended review, I received a very aggressive response from the developers that was inappropriate. I get it. Backgammon is a game of luck and skill and as such the developers are plagued with passionate users who feel they have been treated unfairly. But please try to maintain a professional demeanor in your responses. Regardless, this is well developed game and it’s shortcomings can be overlooked because of it’s solid foundation.

The game is fun. No doubt about that. However, there is a programming error. Here is the problem which has FORCED me to lose after getting all my pieces off first. I had 2 pieces left. I had a piece on my 1 column and a piece on my 3 column. I rolled a double 1. I moved the piece from the 3 column off and then the piece from the 1 column. Game over, right. Nope. The game doesn’t acknowledge that I have zero pieces on the board and then I lose when the time runs out. I tried undoing the sequence and doing it in a different order with the same result. This has happened 4 times. Please fix it. I tried to go to App Support and it takes you to a page to download the game. No way to contact support other than writing the error in a review. Another problem is when you gain access to the 4th level (Turkey), you can’t find anyone to play with at that level so you cannot advance to the 5th level. I can live with that. Therefore, until the error is fixed, my 1 rating stands. If it is fixed, I would rate the game much higher. If you want to get frustrated by losing a game you clearly won, don’t download this game until the developer acknowledges the error and fixes it.
