I have noticed lots of doubles on opening rolls. Moreso than in real life, though I've had games in real life where we've gotten 3 doubles in a row in the opening, just not as frequently as in this game. That being said, and understanding that true random doesn't exist in an app, both players are playing in the same environment, so it's still fair. In my real life games, I've started paying closer attention to dice rolls and I'm constantly amazed by how often I'll get the exact right number then followed by something like 3 doubles in a row. I don't question in because obviously my real life dice are random. I think I only question the game dice sometimes because I'm paying closer attention. I think they are as random as possible for an electronic game. I only have one real issue, and it's the reason I gave 4 stars: if an opponent realizes they are going to lose with a backgammon, they can wait out the clock and lose with only a gammon when the timer runs out, allowing them to cheat. It's incredibly frustrating and seems like it would be an easy fix. This still occurs with the confirm moves (or whatever it's called) option enabled. Would love it if this was fixed because man is it frustrating. Perhaps add a way to report players who cheat in this way. Other than that, love the game! Thanks for making it!
I’ll start this off with stating I really wanted to like this game. The lure of FAIR dice is what enticed me to download the game, but I can honestly say, compared to other backgammon computer games I’ve played, the dice feel more natural and fair. However... I’ve been playing in training mode (just NOT interested in playing against real people) but it definitely feels that the more I play, the more difficult it gets. And I noticed little to zero difference between NOVICE and APPRENTICE modes. It feels like I’m playing against an expert player. I play this game to de-stress after a long day at work and sometimes just don’t have the mental capacity at the end of the day for a hardcore game. The beginning was GREAT... but the computer is shutting me down to where I’m just not enjoying it anymore. I think the game has real potential and is probably GREAT for higher level strategic players, but it’s just not working for me. I used to play real backgammon for years with my brother... we’re both non-skilled players, but it was just family fun. That’s the experience I’m looking for.
I’ve been a MoB player for over 6 years, and I’m sad to see what this game has evolved into. Seems every time there is an update, more and more features most players liked are changed or removed. Now we are unable to chat when playing random games..... only chat with established friends. How do they think most of us became friends?? And now friends can’t play for money.....ridiculous. The programmers shot themselves in the foot with that one.... they eliminated a revenue stream for themselves...Ha! And, the process to invite a friend now only thru main chat is cumbersome. It’s like talking in a crowded party & if someone waves at you & you miss it.....or you leave to play a game & you can’t see the invite. The canned chat phrases are hidden & impersonal, at best. And, I miss the city/country field in a players profile....was interesting to know where a player was from. The social aspect of the game has been destroyed. Now let’s talk actual game....first off this latest update crashes the game repeatedly. I’ve uninstalled & reinstalled the game several times & it still happens. I’ve sent multiple emails to support & get no response. Unrealistic dice rolls.... yeah, I know what THEY say.... the algorithm they use is random.... blah, blah, blah. Play it a few times & you’ll see that’s BS. I could live with it if I were having fun playing with players I could interact with. Not only would I not recommend this to my friends....Sad to say, I’m going to be looking for a new backgammon game to play. 🙁
