Houston News from KHOU 11

Now that I understand the world of streaming …& notifications. I never miss a head line, even when we are out of the USA. When Harvey was coming, I was informed about the weather. We were on a flight home. Bought supplies. Called family. My husband took care of his business. Then stayed informed the whole time. That was extreme!!! And the best life happening example. I have many… information, events, the good, bad and … if I’m out and about our city- something is going on… I can be sure ( I’ll get a notification soon of what happened) and my husband and I will be wowed and informed for that minute.☺️ Now, I’m happy and grateful for my KHOU notification - i take a peek. If it is important, I read it. It I want to read or listen to the segment later - is also a great option. “Sharing” with my adult kids who I love is a perk to. Sometimes I’m in an area- I can not watch the news segment, so reading the news segment is wonderful option at that time. Thank each of my KHOU Family you are always with me.💖 I always feel close in heart to home (Houston) This is important to me and I don’t take this for granted ( because this is where my family lives ) My Church and KHOU are family I chose and take with me everywhere, everyday🥰 God speed we are reporting HIS-TORY daily. His-tory in the making - right now I’m in SanAntonio. The Elipse will happen tomorrow . I have a great understanding of the process. Because of KHOU😎❣️

My favorite local News Station for news and weather. The App is the one I like best and use it daily for weather. Quick notices come across my phone and I choose the ones I want to read or if the brief message is all I want. Keeps me up to date with what’s important locally in the news to me. Also, National things I want to know about. I feel the weather team does an excellent job as they do stay on top of all types of storms. They don’t block the weather map when watching live either! I like how they explain certain weather situations. Very informative and even learn things.

I hate the app now! I used to love channel 11’s app and use it all the time. Now it’s a waste of time because it’s so hard to navigate. I hate it especially for my parents who are senior citizens; it’s hard for them to tell what is a news story and what is an ad! They get lost on random sites and it really irks me!!! It has become an unreliable app especially as a new source if it’s going to take you to unreliable places and unnecessary places if you click a link. Tonight even while at my parents house they were under a tornado warning that came across via a channel 11 notification for their area and you couldn’t find anything on the app about it and you couldn’t get to any news story without watching at least 30 seconds of ads first. If this had been an actual emergency for them they would’ve lost their lives trying to find out more info from their “ trusted news source”. Speaking of ads they’re everywhere and that’s a problem! If you go in looking for specific news story you can’t find it anywhere and you just get stuck looking for what they want you to look at and I am so exhaustingly tired of the crap. Not only do you have to watch ADS (crap) to get to a story but you have to continuously scroll past visual ADS to continue a story you’re reading. IMO the app is worthless as a news source. KHOU should be ashamed.
